The social and economic growth of the Mid West Region is built upon the values of partnership and collaboration which is reflected in the work of the Regional Skills Forum.
The forum is comprised of education and training providers working together with industry to identify and address current and future skills needs.
Both Further and Higher Education providers are changing and adapting new learning methodologies to equip graduates and employees with new skills brought about by continuous changes in technology and automation.
The Mid-West has a strong talent pipeline with over 6,000 graduates per annum which is essential to keep pace with the demands of a changing work landscape.

LIT offers courses at Level 6 (certificate) through Level 10 (PhD) to over to 6,000 full time students whilst also catering for craft apprentices and adult and continuing education.
The Institute has twice been named as Institute of Technology of the Year in The Sunday Times University Guide, firstly in 2008 and again in 2013. The Institute is currently preparing for significant campus redevelopment and expansion with the addition of a new Applied Science & Information Technology Building in Moylish.
In addition the new Coonagh Campus will become a centre of excellence with state-of-the- art engineering facilities to meet industry skills needs. It offers bespoke training for industry, and currently has over 1,200 students participating in CPD across a range of 70 courses.

Similar to LCETB, Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB) is one of 16 ETBs established under the Education and Training Boards Act 2013. Education and training provision covers post primary, post leaving certificate, vocational and adult learning programmes. Tipperary ETB also manages a number of training centres which facilitate the provision of both traineeship and apprenticeship training.
Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is the state education and training authority for the Limerick and Clare region. The authority’s Further Education and Training Division delivers courses to over 25,000 learners each year and has responsibility for 33 Further Education and Training Centres. We work with Community groups in approximately 300 locations across the region and are responsible for the management of Music Education provision.

The Local Enterprise Office is the First Stop Shop for anyone seeking information and support on starting or growing a business in Ireland. Services provided to those starting or scaling their business includes business and mentoring advice, capital, feasibility or employment grants.
The offices will also assist small business or entrepreneurs in accessing additional Government supports through a variety of state agencies. The mission of the enterprise boards is to promote entrepreneurship, foster business start-ups and develop existing micro and small businesses to drive job creation and to provide accessible high quality supports for your Business ideas.
