The present map shows basic topographic features such as transportation, hydrology andsettlements in the area of Sisak (CROATIA). These basic topographic features are derivedfrom public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of pre-event orthophotos(acquired on 2014, spatial resolution 2 m).The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 5 m CE90 or better, from nativepositional accuracy of the aerial orthoimages.The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85% or better, as it is based on visualinterpretation of recognizable items on very high resolution optical imagery.Only the area enclosed by the Area of Interest has been analyzed.Map produced on 21/02/2014 by SIRS under contract 257219 with the EuropeanCommission. The products elaborated in the framework of current mapping in rush mode activation arerealized to the best of our ability, within a very short time frame during a crisis, optimising theavailable data and information. All geographic information has limitations due to scale,resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. The products are compliantwith GIO-EMS RUSH Product Portfolio specifications.
Heavy rainfall and snowfall in the first 10 days of February and subsequent snow-melt andchannel clogging have caused floods in central Croatia, principally in the basins of Sava andKupa rivers. Although the waters in general were declining on 19 February, the counties ofSisak-Moslavina, Karlovac, Zagreb and Lika-Senj remain affected and flooded homes werereported on 18th February in Odra Sisacka.The core users of the map are Disaster Response Authorities involved in operations.
No restrictions on the publication of the mapping apply.Delivery formats are GeoTIFF, GeoPDF, GeoJPEG and vectors (shapefile and KML formats).
