Flora

FLORA è una poltroncina a pozzetto caratterizzata dalla struttura in tubo di acciaio rivestito con un innovativo tessuto tecnico a nido d’ape tridimensionale. Comoda e avvolgente, è adatta ai momenti di tranquillità e trova una collocazione ideale in ambienti pubblici quali bar o ristoranti, nelle zone balneari o bordo piscina e in ambienti privati. È uno dei progetti presentati alla 2a edizione del concorso di design ONLY FOR WOMEN.

Flora is a tub armchair characterized by steel tubular frame covered with an innovative technical three-dimensional honeycomb fabric. Comfortable and enveloping, it’s suitable for relax moments and it holds an ideal place in public spaces such as bars and restaurants, in the watering-places or pool-sides and indoors. It’s one of the projects presented for the 2nd edition of the Only for Women design competition.

Una famiglia di sedute ideata per rispondere a esigenze sia abitative sia contract. Alta qualità dei materiali, fi niture curate, proporzioni generose, versatilità di abbinamento tra struttura e seduta sono le caratteristiche del prodotto.Il disegno geometrico, caratteristico della linea, è evidenziato dal materiale con cui è realizzata: poliuretano strutturale Tech, monocolore o bicolore. Dall’uffi cio direzionale alla sala d’attesa, dal lounge-bar alla stanza d’albergo, è una formula che permette di avere un’immagine coerente, confortevole e contemporanea anche in spazi che devono assolvere funzioni diverse.

A family of seats created to respond to both domestic and contract requirements. High quality materials, painstaking fi nishes, generous proportions and versatility of coupling between the frame and seat are the characteristics of the product. The geometric design, a feature of the line, is evident from the material with which is made: Tech structural polyurethane, monochrome or two-coloured. From the management offi ce to the waiting room, from the lounge bar to the hotel room, it is a formula that permits a coherent image, comfortable and contemporary even in spaces that must accomplish different functions.

In/out chair

La collezione In/Out è caratterizzata da una destinazione d’uso suggerita dal nome stesso: la sedia punta sulla fl essibilità di utilizzo, declinandosi con disinvoltura come soluzione d’arredo sia di ambienti interni che esterni. Si compone di una struttura di metallo dal design lineare, intrecciata in vari colori. Alla sua sommità una particolare inclinazione ne rende distintivo il design: non si tratta di un elemento decorativo ma della soluzione che rende impilabile sia sedia che poltrona.

The In/Out collection is characterized by the use suggested by its name: chair rely on its fl exible use and can be easily used for both indoor and outdoor furniture. It is made up of a metal structure with a linear design, woven in many colours. It has a particular inclination at the top that makes the design original: it is not a decorative element, but a solution that makes the chair and armchair stackable.

Luca Di Matto è nato a Lucera (FG) nel 1967 e si è laureato in architettura presso il Politecnico di Torino (1997); dal 2000 si occupa di progettazione architettonica, collaborando con grandi aziende del panorama nazionale (Banca Popolare di Novara, TIM, Gruppo Fiat, General Industrielle, Euren Intersearch).Paolo Quaglia è nato a Torino nel 1966 e si è laureato in Architettura presso il Politecnico di Torino (1994); si occupa di progettazione architettonica come libero professionista, sviluppando una signifi cativa esperienza nell’ambito degli allestimenti temporanei per eventi fi eristici e congressuali.Vivono e lavorano a Torino, dove si occupano di Design home&contract, segnalandosi in concorsi del settore. Hanno ottenuto, tra l’altro, nel 1995 il 1° premio per la progettazione di rubinetterie per il bagno IMT Armaturen AG, Svizzera e, nel 2004, il 3° premio Promosedia Caiazza Memorial Challenge per la progettazione di una seduta in legno.

Luca Di Matto was born in Lucera (FG) in 1967 and is an architect graduate from the Polytechnic University of Turin (1997); since 2000 deals with architectural design, working with large companies on the national scene (Banca Popolare of Novara, TIM, Fiat Group, General Industrielle, Euren Intersearch).Paolo Quaglia was born in Turin in 1966 and is an architect graduate from the Polytechnic University of Turin (1994); her is a freelancer in architectural design and has vast experience in temporary exhibits for trade shows and conferences.They live and work in Turin in the home&contract design. They have participated in many competitions of this sector. In 1995, they won 1st price for the design of IMT Armaturen AG (Switzerland) bathroom faucets and in 2004 they won third prize for the Promosedia Caiazza Memorial Challenge for the design of wood seats.

Uno dei tre progetti vincenti dell’edizione 2009 del concorso di Design ONLY FOR WOMEN, dedicato solo alle donne e promosso da Area Declic, Knit Knot è stata messa a punto ed è diventata una collezione di sedute presentate come novità al Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano 2010. Il nome rimanda ad un’attività prettamente femminile: il lavoro a maglia. Intrecciati pazientemente da un artigiano sono, infatti, lo schienale e il sedile. La struttura in metallo e il fi lo PVC, a colori esclusivi, consentono alla sedia di essere utilizzata sia all’esterno che all’interno. Impilabilità e proporzioni generose ne fanno una seduta comoda e pratica.

One of the three winning projects of the 2009 Design Competition ONLY FOR WOMEN, dedicated only to women and promoted by Area Declic, Knit Knot was developed and has become a collection of seating presented as a novelty at the International Furniture Fair of Milan 2010. The name refers to a typically feminine activity: knitting. In fact, the backrest and the seat of the chair are patiently woven by an artisan. The metal structure and PVC wire, in exclusive colours, allow the chair and armchair to be used both indoors and outdoors. Its stacking and generous proportions make it a comfortable and practical seat.

Alessandra Pasetti ha fondato lo studio DEfrag nel 1999. Ha sviluppato una esperienza in settori che spaziano dalla moda al prodotto industriale, dall’arredamento al prodotto sportivo. Ha lavorato per Koziol, Pianca, Disguincio, Ferplast, Rudy Project, Molecole, Morellato & Sector, Altek, IseaBaggio, Alt luci alternative, Orange Design, Pubblicom. Affi ancato all’attività di libera professionista quella di insegnante al corso di Disegno Industriale dell’università di Venezia, assistendo tra gli altri Michele De Lucchi, Anna Lombardi, Enzo Berti e Setsu Ito.

- Attivo professionalmente dal 1995, concentra subito la sua attenzione sulla progettazione di sedute, operando sia come progettista che come consulente per le aziende. Assieme alla moglie Francesca Petricich, parallelamente si occupa sia di Architettura che di Interior Design, disegnando negozi, case private e allestimenti fi eristici. - Fin dal 1995, anno di esordio professionale, concentra la sua attenzione sulla progettazione di sedute, operando sia come progettista che come consulente per le aziende. Salvo sporadiche eccezioni - la famiglia Gino è una di queste - lavora in coppia col marito Robby Cantarutti, col quale si occupa sia di Architettura che di Interior Design, disegnando negozi, case private e allestimenti fi eristici.

Vincenzo Genco è l’anima del reparto di Ricerca & Sviluppo di Area Declic. Presente in azienda dal 1977 ne ha seguito la crescita passo per passo. Un’evoluzione che rispecchia le vicissitudini del distretto della sedia di Manzano: dagli anni dei grandi numeri, in cui la produzione correva per seguire il mercato e Genco si concentrava su approvvigionamento e logistica, ad oggi, dove la sua attenzione è puntata su nuove tecnologie e Design. La profonda conoscenza delle lavorazioni di plastica e metallo, unita alla sua personale sensibilità e gusto, sono il fattore determinante nel delicato passaggio da progetto a prodotto. Oltre a seguire l’industrializzazione di tutti i prodotti Area Declic, è autore di diverse sedute in produzione.

Vincenzo Genco is the guiding spirit in the Research and Development Department of Area Declic. Working in the company since 1977, he has followed its growth step by step. An evolution that mirrors the vicissitudes of the chair manufacturing cluster in Manzano: from the years of great demand, in which production was running ahead to chase the market and Genco concentrated upon supplies and distribution, to today, where his attention is placed on new technologies and design. His profound knowledge of working with plastics and metal, together with his personal sensitivity and taste, are the determining factors in the delicate passage from project work to product. Besides following the industrialisation of all the Area Declic products, he is the creator of various chairs that are in production.

Nato nel 1970, è operativo a Monaco come Designer dal 2003. È stato più volte premiato: ha ottenuto il premio Red Dot Design nel 2007; nel 2006 è stato segnalato al Rimaedit Young&Design Award; nel 2005 la nomination per il Designpreis of Germany e per l’Interior Innovation Award-Best Detail, oltre che essere stato insignito del premio Rimaedit Young&Design. Numerose le pubblicazioni di cui è stato oggetto. È autore di progetti in cui la semplicità si sposa con la ricercatezza e la funzionalità con i confort.

Born in 1970, he has worked in Munich since 2003 as a designer. He has won many prizes: he obtained the Red Dot Design award in 2007; in 2006 he was entered for the Rimaedit Young & Design Award; in 2005 was named for the Designpreis of Germany and for the Interior Innovation Award-Best Detail, besides which he has been decorated with the Rimaedit Young & Design award. He has been the subject for many publications. He is the creator of designs in which simplicity is married with refi nement and functionality with comfort.
