Coffee Break Session 2 – Digital Friendship – what can we learn? 11.00 – 12.30

Jenny Cole (MMU) will talk about what research can tell us and there will be a quick quiz Hannah Plews (Oldham Hulme Grammar) school and peer mentors will talk about the Toot Toot app and we will have an open discussion

Bex Lewis (MMU) will talk about safety on line and what friendship on line means in the 21sT century Open discussion and Askit basket

Askit Baskit – How does it work and how do I participate?

• Just write a question on a piece of paper and drop it into the basket

• We’ll get the panel to pick questions out of the basket to answer.

Completely anonymous way of asking a  question – but you might want to identify yourself to the speaker if you want to ask a follow up!

What we will do with your answers• We’ll use them to help us develop an app called Rescue Station, designed to help people in 

a crisis.• We might also write a research paper or newspaper article using your answers.• All answers are ANONYMOUS, your name or any other identifying details are not kept.• We’ll keep your answers safely and password protected, for three years, after which we’ll 

destroy those answers. • If there is anything you regret saying later, and don’t want us to use, please contact Cathy 

Urquhart (c.urquhart@mmu.ac.uk) or your teacher, and we’ll make sure your comments are not used.
