WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

My name is Bill Wieber. I’m a retired U.S. Navy Chief Warrant Officer and Owner of THE BOSN’S LOCKER. I created and founded this business in 2006, upon retiring from the Navy, based upon an idea and a belief that there was an extreme necessity for Quarterdeck Equipment aboard U.S. Navy Ships and Shore Commands. Quarterdeck Equipment - such as wooden Podiums, Photo Boards, Status Boards, Bell Stands, Flag Stands, Ceremonial Bullets and many other items. I realized that every single U.S. Navy ship purchases these items for use upon their Quarterdecks and for Ceremonial Purposes, and there was no single supplier of these items in the entire country. Thus, THE BOSN’S LOCKER was born.

Once word got out, our sales orders began pouring in and before we knew it, we were overwhelmed with custom orders from U.S. ships and shore commands worldwide. Then the orders began coming in from the U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command and other Sea Services. Shortly thereafter, we began receiving orders from other branches of the armed forces, such as the Marine Corps, Army and Air Force, as well as from high ranking members of the United States Government, such as the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations and The Presidential Retreat at Camp David. All our plans to retire and travel the world together were dashed. So were my dreams. So now I’m flying solo. Within this office space is a fully functioning Walk-In STORE, where customers can walk in and purchase Boatswain’s Mate items – knives; marlinspikes; lanyards and boatswain’s pipes; paracord, books and other knot-tying supplies; T-shirts and nautical gifts and novelty items. We have a full selection of Flags, Finials and Flag Poles here as well. Our SHIPPING AND RECEIVING WAREHOUSE is located right next door to the office. That’s where the items are inspected, professionally and carefully wrapped and shipped out from. We have an inventory of hundreds of boxes and all the necessary material for shipping, including industrial bubble wrap, clear and strapping tape, shipping labels and numerous shipping tables and storage racks. We also receive materials and supplies in this warehouse. Next door to that is where the magic happens. This is our WOODSHOP AND MACHINE SHOP where our Master Woodworkers build all the wooden items that we sell and all of our ceremonial bullets, missiles, etc. We have everything from a lathe and drill press, to wood and miter saws, to planing and milling machines. We even have an industrial dust collection system.

TRANSITIONING Once you purchase the business, my team will help transition everything over to you smoothly and efficiently. We’ll provide all the training necessary to get you started and provide you with all the contact information for long-time vendors and give you access to all of our customer files. Then we’ll walk you step-by-step through all the processes. We’ll explain in detail how all the processes work, from drafting quotes and receiving orders, to putting the items into the manufacturing stages, to shipping/receiving and filling orders to processing payments.
