Fidaa Abu Turky Story

Fidaa Abu Turky was just

eleven years old when a

massacre and attack on apopular mosque in her

home city of Hebron,

Palestine, resulted in an

intense, temporary

shutdown of the city.

For 60 days the entirecommunity experienced asevere shortage of food,

money and other urgentsupplies

Spurred by her experiences,Fidaa has since committedherself to working with otheryoung activists, using the

principles of social justice,non-violence and respect forhuman rights to empowerdisadvantaged communities

incubationinitiative known asErada (meaningwillpower).

Her innovationwas to apply a

venture capitalistapproach in anarea thattraditionally relieson charitablegiving and to use abusinessincubation model
