Archives Month – October 2015 Archives:Preserving the Past for You In 2014 the Alaska State Historical Records Advisory Board (ASHRAB) helped six Alaskan institutions preserve their historic photographs, recordings, and paper documents. Professional archivists provided hands-on training to staff and volunteers at three museums, a tribal government, a historical society, and a municipal government. These preserved records are treasures that serve all Alaskans. Organizations serviced from this project include the Organized Village of Kake, City of Fairbanks, Palmer Historical Society, Alutiiq Museum, Pioneer Air Museum, and Alaska Aviation Museum. Project funded by the National Historic Publications and Resources Commission (NHPRC). Please contact the ASHRAB via www.alaska.archives.gov if you need assistance with your organization’s historical records.
