AIRPORT BRNO-MEDLANKY

The task of this project was to design a visitors centre for a sports airport in Brno. The centre consists of three parts - restaurant in a left wing, gallery of airplanes in the middle and educational centre in right wing. For flying are characteristic dynamics and smootheness of the motion. Same things I wanted to reflect in my design by shaping in organic curve. The result is descent architecture that merges with surrounding terrain and makes perfect match with the peaks around.

OVERLOOK RESTAURANT

The object, including restaurant with terrace and ski rental, was designed for a ski resort in moravian range Jeseniky. It consists of a twice-bent object, where one part obtains the shortest input from the cableway. Mid-part, where the restaurant is, provides a view to the highest mountain of the range, Praded, and nat-ural phenomenon - Peter’s stones on the other side. The South part serves as a connection to overlook - the path going all the way to Peter’s stones. The whole bulding is rising right from the ground level on two sides to provide an easy acces to the view point on the top.

ECO HOUSING

The project was designed in the gap neightbouring with art nouveau and modern house on Milada Horakova’s street in Brno. Glazed facade of cafe in parterre fol-lows with its height on art nouveau house. The placement and shaping of the duplex apartment’s windows makes connections between neighbouring houses. The black elegant facade is made of wood, modified with “shou karamatsuban” technique (burned wood technique; wood is less inclinable to catch fire). In backyard of the house is a lagoon that catches rainwater and reuses it for flushing in apartments. Another use of lagoon is arboretum of water plants and partly seating connected with cafe on the first floor.

SOLAR ENERGY

The house is on the south side out-dented to increase roof area suit-able for placement of photovoltaic

panels to produce electricity and so-lar collectors for hot water heating.

USE OF RAINWATER

Rainwater from the roof is collected in ponds in the back of the house and

it is used for flushing and watering plants. Ponds also have a recrea-tional function and provide a place for the arboretum of exotic aquatic

HEAT PUMP

The nonvolatile heat source provides a deep heat pump. The building is

located in an area with high ground-water, therefore, the selected pump

type was water-water.

CHURCH IN BRNO - LESNÁ

A new church for the settlement Brno-Lesná is rearing to the sky as human hands in prayer to God. It is rounded like the wings of angels, who are protecting the place of peace, meditation and the sacrament. Church space is defined by bright colors. The main space is dominated by stained glass of milk glass through which shines the cross of clear glass. The church is not only a place of worship but also a place where people meet each other. To that purpose there is a cafe overlooking the forest and a hall for social events in the back of the church.

CITY PARK

The main purpose of the project was to effectively use the area that is located in the center of a new development of apartment buildings in Brno-Medlanky. The whole concept is based on the location and the proposed elements are trying to make the location more attractive for the entire age spectrum. The proposal should bring pleasure to our smallest and also the elderly, for which there is not only designed the main route with interactive elements and elements with positive effect on the motor system, but there can be found an intimate, safe and tranquil retreats for meditation or reading books. The elongated shape of the specified area was used to create a circular path around entire parcel. This path is complemented by crossing paths and leads the visitor to all the elements and attractions.Existing water areas will be complemented by a relaxing pier to be used throughout the year. The project includes use of mound, which is located on the parcel. There is a cafe restaint into the slope. Off the café continues cascade seating with a view to the stage, used for cultural events (eg local nursery). In the area of the stream there is a wooden walkway above the ground, made of larch wood. The whole area around the creek and water will be purified from existing shrubs.

GLOWING MUSHROOMS

In front of our university, there is a fantastic park, full of students hanging around during the daylight. But when it gets dark, the park is just empty. Why? It’s not because the students go to bed at seven, but because there are no lights. That is nice to observe the stars, but if you want to be social, you want to see your partner. Therefore I have created these shelters full of light, inspired by glowing mushrooms of amazonian rainforrest.Arbour is almost entirely made up of elements of construction plywood. Construction plywood is waterproof multilayered wood-based panels suit-able for outdoor use. As the support element without coating resists weathering and direct effect of flowing water. Horizontal elements of circular shape with a thickness of 3 cm are placed one above the other, with a gap of 4 cm. The stability of the coupling is ensured by attaching bolts. All interior parts are painted a deep green color simulating luminescent mushrooms.

BIOGAS STATION

Biogas station is located in the suburb part of the city Tlumačov. The purpose of biogas station is transforming organic substances into electric energy. This procedure is supplemented by drying of digestate, where residual substances are used for making pellets, and of greenhouses that exploits excess heat. Buildings are sorted on oblong land by order in the manufacturing process. It begins with input substance stored in silo chutes at the end of areal and ends with the first building seen from the road that contains administration and florist accessible to the public.

MOBILE LIVING FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE

Mobile shed “Shell” is a form of housing for homeless people. It provides basic needs, not only for the person who finds himself on the fringes of society, but also for the people affected by natural disasters. Its shape is based on the ergonomics of the human body and use and construction fully consists of recycled materials.

LOCATION ANYWHERE WHERE NEEDEDPROJECT INFO SCHOOL PROJECT, SUMMER SEMESTER 2013

The shell creates protection for people in need from natural contitions and creates personal

space that they miss on the street.

Alarming red color of the shelter attracts sight to make people aware of the presence of home-less people. The problem of these people oc-curs in all societies and shouldn’t be ignored.

The shelter is designed for use in countries affected by the disaster. It provides shelter for people during the first few days. Its color can also assist in the organization and the subse-

quent supply of food and drink.

The construction consists of reused plastics, that can be recycled again after returning and

re-used.

FLOATING SAUNA

The floating sauna is a freetime project of me and my good friend Jakub Vilem. Aim of the sauna is simple - to create a place to warm yourself up in cold winters. When built, sauna will be open for free for anyone. Expanses for a construction are minimal, because it is whole built of reused materials, like palettes, or my grandmothers old oven.It was meant to be built in the city Brno where I study, but cancelled due to administrative restrictions. But now we have finally found a man with piece of lake and strong will to have it - in Norway.

OSTRAVA 2.0

This project I made with my friend Hana Arletova. Our goal was to show to people of Ostrava and its council, that the public places of the city can offer much more than they do. Ostrava is a city, where communist past did a huge mess in architecture. There has been done big mistakes in urbanism of the city, which can just hardly be undone. But what can we do is to rebuild at least public spaces to contamporary needs.

TROMSØ PRACTICEFourth year of my study was dedicated to architectural practice. Contamporary architecture of Scandinavic countries is one of the most inspirative in the world these days. Therefore I decided to get my first practite in AT plan&arkitektur (ATPA) based in Norway, Trosmo. ATPA is focused on large developers projects with quality realisations all over Norway. The team of ATPA let me work on three projects, from sketch to visualisation (and realisation soon). First was tall office building in the centre of Trosmo, the other was a residential housing in Rodhettestien. The last project was a competition of designing student housing in Oslo - that we won and it is just about to build!
