This building actually harbor the local goberment parlament, but soon they are going to move to a new location, so the goal is to propose a new use for the soon empty building. We determinated that is suitable to use it as a new Musical Art School because nowhere in Zacatecas exist an apropiate space for this important public leisure and learning space.

Our proposal includes an interior redistribution on the offices area for the new music and perfomance spaces, incluiding a facade intervention to bring back the proportion of the building, by been inspired in an original inside door engraving of a local artist of an abstraction of the city configuration of Zacatecas and the native Prickly pear plant structure, to propose a new space that contrast with the actual context of the city.

We make this project inside our campus and choose a real competion project in the world, so we found ¨save the prentice¨, a building that is in danger and there was a campaing to save this Chicago landmark historical building by proposing a new use for it by thinking that architecture ties structural elements and spaces together to achieve cohesion, connection is the key to reach this natural state of harmony.We analize the context and determinated that that it is surrounded by important univesities and there was not a common place for the students, so we proposed for the new use to convert the building in a ¨student center¨ that is connected by a bridge to a research lab building in the front.

I made this proposal for a local architect of Zacatecas who i meet when i was studying, he assign me the design of this project to accomplish the idea of a new car dealer in the city. The main concept of this project was the idea of the enhancement of the look of the new cars, and also the opportunity to connect the outside inside views with the Arrollo de la Plata park,that the vecinity buildings lacks, i propose a building that has direct connection with this views wherever a user be inside the building, without loosing the hierachy of the cars even when they are in garage lower level. This building can refuge any local or international car brand even new or used, I choose Toyota to disguise the project to bring a closer look of what it could be.

ACTUAL USER CIRCULATION

This project is located in the city of Aguascalientes, Mx, famous for its grapevine crops to make local and international wines. I first analize the wine process to define 3 main steps until the wine its finished, but making a big stop in the very first process to define the concept of my project, i took a close up to the grapevine plant to obtain ideas and reflect them in the building, so i found a very special leaf of the plant named Trendil that is responsable of the vertical growing of the vine, I took this natural design idea to bring it to my project to develop a structure path that can wrap the building areas and the wine process, to be used by the workers and visitors to give multiple inside / outside views, experiences and activities from different levels, in this way brake the statical and linear traditional way of wine making process.

“Today wineries are esence of a millenary tradition, they have become a space that combines the art of winemaking with a sensorial experience for the people who live together with the process, the main concept of this project is to show this important due, it ties the entire process of wine as it is in a space that is involved by a structure that ties the areas and also let the user feel a complete experiencie from many angles inside/outside the winery and the vineyards.”

The project is located in the Chicago River Side walk in Marina city district, this area is a big oportunity to reactivate the abandoned part of the river, by creating spaces to interact with people through water.The main idea is to reuse the water from the lake and use it for some waterfall fountains and reflecting pools along the riverwalk, where the people can go to the new retail spaces and rest, enjoy and feel the water, and use the new space in many ways in the different seasons of the year. Important part of the development of the project, is to create 2 stages of flooding, where the people can visualize an extention of the river when the rain rise its water level, when it happens, the new level create some islands in the site giving to the people different states of the space in the special areas that complement the retail and central fountain spaces¨ We made this project in a 48 hrs charrette competition at the Crown Hall inside IIT, competing with other 9 Teams and winning the first place by showing the best idea.

Located in a company truck parking lot outside Zacatecas city limits, we have the opportunity to redesign this big space to develop the company owner idea of a go kart circuit plus and ice rink. We make a master plan that gives hierachy an centrality to the ice rink by been inspired in one of the company main products the “Ice”, and took it as our concept to bring out the whole idea.

We develop 2 experiences, a basic track with no obstacles 250m for begginers and a long special features track 350 m long, and a central ice rink that is connected by a bridge to avoid a dangerous people crossing, this area is covered by a canopy that protects the arena from the sun.This combined organization refers us to the behavior of a melting ice where our main concept born.

Having the need for a temporary space that can harbor the final student projects of architecture, i made this proposal by been inspired in a common object that can be abstracted to become a conceptual idea of an expo hall furniture/pavilion. I took as my main concept a ¨spring¨ a flexible tool that has the quality of expansion and contraction.So i take this idea to develop a space that can be repeated along a path and perform a corridor that allows a ¨contract-ed¨ student work expo module and by its own repetion to ¨expand¨ this expo along a path situated in the main plaza inside ITESM Zacatecas.

During the interior Design Class in spring 2011, the profesor guided us to design a space that could be used both inside / outside covering a missing desire to the city.

I determinated that no where in the limits of Zacatecas city doesnt exist an ice cream store that could offer a nice place to meet people and enjoy ice cream.

I got inspired by remember when i was a child and my parents bought ice cream for me, i always dropped it to the floor by mistake... so i studied and abstracted the shape of the human hand and the melted ice cream behavior, to combine both studied forms to propose a flexible space that can supply the missing spot to the city wherever it could be necessary.

Description

I designed this case by been enroled in summer school at IIT in Chicago, by been inspired by visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Oak Park in Chicago, i’ve been amazed in how this architect separate the composition of his designs in planes, by extending the horizontal faces beyond the structure ,to give a floating effect to this elements.

I decided to take as the main idea concept “to build a case that can store personal drawing tools, by using a combination of visually heavy and light materials, to give to the case a floating effect in the whole faces."

These are some of the best projects that i colaborated with AZ ARQUITECTOS and ARTE DEL HABITAT ARQUITECTOS in Zacatecas, in the first office i joined a team and started to work and design Commercial, Mixed Use and Housing projects by generating ideas and sketches to develop a preview of them and also helping to draw the construction documents for the client , in this office i had the role of Jr Architect and 3D Modeling by using Autocad, Revit, 3dmax & Vray , Rhinocerous, Photoshop, in the second office first i had the role of jr architect working with a team by generating sketches of an interior and exterior proposal and next 3d models and renderings of a WINERY COMPLEX on the areas of a master suite, museum and the grand events hall buildings for the final client presentation, and next i obtained the role of site architect in the renovation of the offices inside the Francisco Goitia Museum in Zacatecas during 3 months, supervising the workers and coordinate with sub-contractors to ensure timely job progression and also giving semanal reports to the central office.
