This project was designed using an Integrated Project Delivery approach in which I worked within a group of seven students including two architects, three Construction Managers, one Architectural Engineer, and one Landscape Archi-tect. Our goal was to design an administration building that could house the entire Cal Poly Athletic Department staff, all coaches and their assistants, as well as providing a dedicated space for Student-Athlete use. We were able to achieve this by separating our program by floor so that each floor would be dedicated to one user type. Additionally, we had to design a 1000 space parking structure to serve the new football stadium and integrate it into our site. By placing our Admin Building next to the parking structure we were able to create a direct connection between the office spaces and the parking garage. We utilized the terrain to our advantage by partially sinking our building into the ground. This allowed us to have our main entrance at ground level while our student entrance would be at the second floor of the building on the side closest to campus.

With sustainability playing a major roll in architecture today, it was important to me to integrate sustainable practic-es and building design. Given that the purpose of this center is to educate the public about sustainable agricultural prac-tices, it made sense that the buildings should be sustainable as well. The use of Straw Bale Walls, Photovoltaic Panels, Bioswales, a Rainwater Catchment System, and Natural Ven-tilation were all incorporated into the final design. This Ag-riculture Center is designed to provide a hands-on approach to learning through the use of demonstration crop beds, a green house, a small orchard, working farm, demo kitchen, and local farmers market space. Designed using Revit.

The basis for my design of this community center was to create a multifunction building that was accommodating to many different user groups at all times of the day, including the general public. The focal point of the building is its large open atrium and circulation space with expansive curtain wall windows. The center features a large, grand banquet room with stage and direct access and views to the park and lake just outside. Also included in the program are arts and crafts classrooms, conference rooms, a large assembly room, computer room, small library, and professional kitchen. Designed using Revit.

The Salk Institute
Along with a fellow classmate, I created this model of the Jonas Salk Institute in La Jolla, California based on the original plans by Louis Kahn. By measuring everything directly from the plans we were able to recreate all of the major building components using AutoCAD software. Then, using our Digital Fabrication Lab, we were able to laser-cut all of our pieces. Finally, we assembled the structure based on the original plans as well as many photographs taken during several site visits.
