SKY PARK

Page 3: Architecture Portfolio

Sky Park LAKE UNIONA real estate competition between University of Alberta, University of British Columbia and University of Washington sponsored by Paul Allen’s Vulcan Properties at Lake Union in Seattle Washington. The brief was to design for a mixed-used high density pedestrian oriented hub on the north shores of Lake Union. The neighbourhood is undergoing revitalization and Sky Park looks to be the pivotal edifice that enhances the liveability and socialization of the emerging neighbourhood. Focused on providing uninhibited views and access to the elements Skypark and its complimenting buildings spread out over three sites look to celebrate the Pacific Northwest’s rugged beauty. Finding inspiration from the nearby marinas, forms and typologies reflect the rich industruial and sporting history in the region.

REconnect ABBOTSFORDPUBLISHED ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION, SHORTLISTAs resources become more expensive and scarce, vibrant public spaces that allow for a myriad of activities and expressions must be in the vanguard of our new ideology if we desire a future that extols democratic values. REconnect establishes this relationship by recreating an underutilized parking lot into an animated recreational setting that is not overly deterministic but provides opportunities for participants to create their own experience.
