The current situation on the location Linke Wienzeile 26-30 shows a poor design. Despite the great location next to Nasch-markt and Gumpendorferstraße the exist-ing park is very unfrequented. This seems to be the result of a two storey office building which does not fit at all and the firewalls of the surrounding buildings. This studies aim is it to show new possibil-ities for this area and produce one specific design, which corresponds to the sur-rounding buildings and uses the existing qualities. The proposed concept will en-hance the quality of the public space de-spite the higher density of buildings. The clear-cut geometric draft should fit into the environment and round up the com-position of the streetscape. To complete the design there will be detailed relations to the identity of the city of Vienna.

The site is part of the inner city and is located in a quite dense neighborehood with very little green spaces.
Numerousness models
were build of many dif-ferent scenarios.
These show the impact
on the historic surroun-
ding and form a great basis for talks.

enhance qualities of the park
As a result of the situ-ational needs and the model analyses of the
best construction volu-men, the completion of a stand-alone building with strong connections to the surroundings seems to fit perfect for the construc-
tion site. The central park can be
reached through two en-trances from the side and one big opening from the
northern side. From both sides, north an south there are big stiars
desigend to invite people to ascend to the walk-about on the rooftop.

Appartments in the west wing (left floorplan) vary in their type and orientation depending on the 5 meter wide stairs inside the courtyard. Those situated under the stairs are orentated both sides and partly 2 sto-ries high, while all appertment above are orientaed to the west with private loggias.
In the east wing (right floorplan) all appartment are of the same kind and vary only in size. Most of them have their privat loggia
or balcony. Due the construc-tion it is easy do change size
and function depending on the usage of every floor.
Under the great stair wich leads to the walkaround on the roof,
there will be a museum located.

The basement is to be used for shops and cafés who will vivify the central park even more. The most northern part is rised for one level, as a result of the topographie. The southern wing between Naschmarkt and the park will house a new hotel, which func-tions as a filter.
All stories above are used eight-er for apartments in the west and east wing, or offices in the north wing and of course the hotel rooms in the south, which are orientated both sides, to the Naschmarkt and into the park. While the apartments are mainly directed into the park, depend-ing on theire level in the west wing.
The location of the site, close to the city center, but also next to the train station, bus terminals
and ferry ports seems to be perfect.

Portugals actual economic situa-tion forces every year a huge num-ber of very well educated young people to leave their hometown and emigrate to other countries. This of course doesn´t help the portugese problems and the situation gets worse and worse. My concept is to creat a start up office, where this young high mo-tivated people can find a platform to start a business in their own country.

Schnitt 1 1 - 200The result is an office complex which is created by intersecting volumes in different size, which generates a high variety in the possibility to use the existing space.
People can work in groups, on their own in individual boxes, international in conference rooms, build models or prototypes in the workshop, do resaerch in the library and pres-ent their ideas in the presentation room. They can also find a cafe and a fitnes center to relax, if a break is needed.

To design a new creative office it was important to define some modern office modules as a first step. How do poeple nowadays work. How is it possible to foster the creative proces with the building or interior.

The Nature Hotel
Noarootsibuilding and landscape
design 2012hotel
sparestaurant
The Nature Hotel is designed for people who want to enjoy a few days on the great
beauty spot on the Ramsi coast in Noa-rootsi. People who want to slow down and
relax solitary with the nature. The concept is simple: each room is lo-
cated on the site to generate the greatest privacy. Every room has eighter its own
sauna, or a private wooden hot tub. This depends on the location, whether it is
near the sea or in the forest. This enables an exclusive stay for the
guests but also an artistic addition to the beautiful landscape.
The existing soviet buildings will be ren-ovated gently and used as a café/lounge
and check in as well.In the landscape the roomboxes will ap-pear more like an art installation, than a
hotel. This is made possible by the small size of each box, as well as by the materi-ality of corten steel, with is changing with the time and becoming evermore part of
the nature.
The site is located direct at the coast but also next to the pine forest.
Guests have to park their car before they enter the forest. To walk the last 1000 meter to the check in is already
part of the slow-down idea.
All rooms are located and orientated to generate an untouched view into
the nature.
The two existing buildings from the time of Sovjet occupation, will be renovated gently and used as reception respectively as café or lounge.
The sauna unit is placed on the beach. It is partly under ground, and lifted up to 1,5 meters over ground. The idea is to appreci-ate the landscape in sauna and bathroom, and enjoy the quiet
during a rest in the room.
Located in the forest is the unit with the hot tub. To ge-nerate more privacy it is lifted up in the trees. The room itself is very basic, on it´s rooftop is the private wooden hot tub.

square
It is hard to define the Schwedenplatz of Viennas inner city. On one hand its part of the first district, on the other hand its the gate to the second district. It is one of the most important traffic junctions and there-fore more of a crossing area, rather than a square in the proper sense.
The aim of this urban concept was to clear this chaotic situation and generate an ur-ban square which is recognized as one.
As the result of an quite simple idea is the design rather eclectic: By concentrating the square inside a frame-like structure which shelters all the existing funcions.

Each part of the Ringstraße has its own center with some important institution or building, on Franz - Josephs - Kai the Schwedenplatz builds the center. Under this aspect it plays an even more important role as part of the composition of the Ringstraße.

The closed roundwalk with two pedestrian bridges is both, an important link bet-ween the 1st and the 2nd district, and the missign link to the Donaukanal, which suddenly becoomes part of the sqare.
The needed existing functions, like stations, snack
pavillons, ATM, city bike,... will be sheltered inside the the new
frame-like construction.
The materiality of the showcas-es is carefully chosen to even
enhance the brilliance of each exhibit.

Schatzkammer Zwettl
The well thought-out design allows the
most possible space for visitors.
Both of the small rooms offer enough
space to enjoy the ex-hibits, as well as walk around or take a rest
on the benches inside the bays.
The Austrian monas-tery Zwettl was looking for new possibilities to present their valuable treasures. Therefore they offered two small rooms inside the his-toric building of the diocese.

Loose Fit
Stockholmarchitectural technology
2012
Digital fabrication essentially allows architects to explore how geometry can interface with matter through machinic processes. It deals with the actual production of assemblies, objects and material finishes as a mode of design. This seminar engages in the design and construction of a full-scale installation as well as in the practice, history and discourse of digital fabrication. It focuses on a specific material that is not commonly associat-ed with digital fabrication: Textile. Textile surfaces in architecture typically wrap an inner mass and require the support of an armature. The installa-tion exploits the loose fit and between two material systems - soft textile and rigid armature. This involves transitions from design work guided by geometric precision to less controlled modes of working that rely on the live manipulation of material. Ultimately, a loose fit is characterized by the use of an excessive amount - rather than a minimum - of material in the production of thickened surfaces as well as layered spaces.

SingaporeAA Workshop 2011
Within the contrived urban setting of Singapore the AA visiting workshop will investigate surplus as a shift in de-sign strategy. Linking multiple scales, from the individual to the supply chain, and looking at how the exces-sive availability of goods has trans-formed needs into excess, we will generate new forms and uses emerg-ing from ordinary mass-production. Looking at the reversed engineering of everyday lifewill ultimately reveal this link with the global as a web of relations con-tained in our hand.
