facilities such as functionrooms, pubs, bowling alleys, laserquests, etc. are a stronggrowth industry in noise andacoustics- related architecture. Thesingle biggest problem associatedwith this area of work is a true 90’sproblem and is caused by the dramatic increase in low frequencynoise, particularly the repetitivethump of modern dance music.

Other issues suchas mechanical services noise, risksto employees’ hearing under theNoise at Work Regulations, internalroom acoustics, and sound systemspecification are also an importantaspect of an acoustic consultant’s brief.
