The driving concept of the proposal was to produce a vibrant building, that would activate the laneway and draw potential clients into the studio. The building was conceived as a series of volumes all looking into the one green space; providing light � lled interiors and visual connections between the various spaces. The internal � oating levels and voids produce dramatic spaces, which are revealed in the facade. Much of the design investigation looked at the internal light and space qualities provided by the volumetrics. The building was not to be an extru-sion of the site, but an interplay of extruded and pushed volumes, solid and void, glass and concrete, colour and minimalism.
