Stewardship Reflection
“Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come." (Matthew 24:42)
People who have had health issues or near-death experiences generally have a
greater appreciation for each day being a gift from God. The rest of us usually take
for granted that we will be around tomorrow. But when you start to look at each day
as a gift, you realize all the little miracles that happen daily and grow in gratitude for
all that we have been given. You begin to see God’s active presence in your life.

Dear Parishioners, Maranatha Come, Lord Jesus. Today we begin the season of Advent, a season that invites us to assess our relationship with God as we prepare for Christ-mas. What is Advent all about? The word Advent connotes ‘awaiting’ something and when applied to Jesus, refers equally to his coming as an infant born of Mary in Bethlehem; to his continued advent in our lives as we receive Jesus more deep-ly in our hearts; and finally, to the ultimate coming in glory as the “Son of Man” at the end of the world. The Advent litur-gies call us to consider all three of these “comings” of Jesus: celebrating with joy his birth to Mary and Joseph; receiving him gladly each moment of our lives; and awaiting his coming in glory as the triumphantly loving Brother and Lord of our lives. Let our preparations be holy, doing not just what world does for holiday season but be it Christian. Following are some of the things you can do yourself as part of preparation for Christmas; 1. Join or sign up to be with the Lord during 40 hours Eucharistic adoration.
2. Join the advent penitential rite and take the opportunity to go for individual confession.
3. Donate for seniors help corner.
4. Share the good news of Christmas with some one and invite them for Christmas mass.
5. Attend the 9 days novena (Simbang Gabi) in preparation for Christmas.
6. Donate financially to the maintenance of the parish. Attend advent masses.
This year we intend to have Christmas tree party for children of our parish. I thank Legion of Mary for organizing the same and Knights of Columbus are willing partners with them. Please see the bulletin for more details. We celebrate the feast of great missionary St. Francis Xavier on December 3rd. Mass will be at 7 pm. Since Dec. 8, the solemnity of Immaculate Conception comes on Sunday, the celebration will be on Monday December 9th, the mass will be at 8 am. I wish you all a fruitful season of Advent. Fr. John Alex Pinto OCD Pastor
