1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.6.1 Deliver materials in manufacturer's unopened, undamaged packaging, with manufacturer's labels intact.

1.6.2 Remove wraps or covers from windows and frames upon delivery at the building site; clean and touch-up scratches or disfigurement caused by shipping or handling promptly.

1.6.3 Store assemblies covered to protect them from damage but permitting air circulation.

1.7 SEQUENCING

1.7.1 Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

Armortex.2.3.3.2 Design Requirements: Frames shall be of the "non-ricochet type". The design

shall permit the capture and retention of an attacking projectile lessening the potential of a random injury or lateral penetration. The capturing barrier shall be UL Listed Bullet Resistant Composite manufactured by Armortex. Frames shall be same protection level equal to or greater than glazing. No field alterations to construction of the units fabricated under acceptable standards is allowed unless approved by the manufacturer and the architect.

Adjustable jamb designed to wrap 4 inches (102 mm) to 8 inches (203 mm) thick wall. Lined with UL Listed Bullet Resistant Armortex Composite. Replacement of glazing shall be installed from the secure side of window or wall unit using 1 inch x 1 inch (25 mm x 25 mm) screw applied stops.

2.3.3.19 Finish: Anodized finish Class I Clear.2.3.3.20 Finish: Anodized finish Class I Dark Bronze.

2.3.4 Operable (Casement) Hollow Metal Window:2.3.4.1 Product: Bullet resistant hollow metal operable fixed windows as manufactured

by Armortex.2.3.4.2 Design Requirements: Frames shall be of the "non-ricochet type". The design is

intended to permit the capture and retention of an attacking projectile lessening the potential of a random injury or lateral penetration. The capturing barrier shall be Armortex UL Listed Bullet Resistant Fiberglass manufactured by Armortex® Frames shall be of a protection level equal to or greater than the glazing. 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.2 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

3.2.2 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Install plumb, level, square, true to line, and without warp or rack. Provide all fasteners required for installation.

3.3.2 Anchor frames securely in place to supports. Use attachment methods permitting adjustment for construction tolerances, irregularities, alignment, and expansion and contraction.

3.3.3 Separate aluminum from other metal surfaces with bituminous coatings or other means approved by Architect.

3.3.4 Sheet Metal Flashing: Coordinate with sheet metal flashing as specified in Section 07 62 00 - Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim.

3.3.5 Joint Sealants: Install joint sealants as specified in Section 07 91 26 - Joint Fillers.

3.3.6 Adjust door equipment for correct function and smooth operation. Verify water and weather tight installation as applicable.

3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

3.4.1 Manufacturer's representative to verify that installation is in conformance to the manufacturer's recommendations.

3.5 CLEANING

3.5.1 Clean interior and exterior glass surfaces promptly after installation in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
