Metro Atlanta values arts and culture as essential for building a thriving,

inclusive, and economically healthy region, and recognizes its transformative role in addressing broader civic issues.

Creative placemaking integrates arts into how communities

(residents, organizations, businesses, local government)

develop land-use, transportation, economic development,

education, housing, infrastructure, and public safety

strategies. Creative placemaking supports local efforts to

enhance quality of life and opportunity for existing residents,

increase creative activity, and celebrate a distinct sense of

place. Creative placemaking at its best is locally defined and

informed and about the people who live, work, and play in a

place.
