Tow we approach the very fundamentals of our newer understanding of Cosmology ’and no doubt our students w i l l be surprised at the s tate-ments made and demand much proof and enter into much argument.

We w i l l not deal with theor ies, however, but with fa c ts and we w i l lanalyze fac ts , turn them around and look at them from every side , andin every possible way permit them to reveal to us their true mean-ing in preference to a favored meaning we may wish to take from them.

So l e t us begin with the f i r s t statement of fa ct and then examine it .

FIRST COSMIC LAW OF CREATION:"A ll that ex is ts in the Universe, and that has l i f e and thepowe

/ to maintain l i f e , is in the form of a c e l l . "

SECOND COSMIC LAW OF CREATION:"The Universe it s e l f is a c e l l, the counterpart 'of the smallestcell, and the smallest cell is a counterpart of the universe."

Now our students w i l l hardly chall enge the statement of fa ct s con-tained in the f i r s t law, and i f any do so challenge we w i l l take upthat issue very short ly . But most of our students w i l l challengethe facts contained in the statement of the second law, not so muchbecause of the astounding nature of the facts, or because they con-tradict what has been taught about the universe heretofore, but be-cause i t seems so lo g ic a l, true, and reasonable that further f ac ts

and proof are wanted.

So we w i l l spend our time just now in a rev iew of the fa cts con-tained in the second law.

 THE UNIVERSE A CELL  \

That means, then, one of you w i l l say, that the earth we l i v e on isthe only planet in the universe, or, in other words, that there isno other planet; that the universe consists of only one planet.

This is absolutely true and correct, as you w i l l soon discover from

even casual inquiry and investigation.»

I t also means that instead of there being one great centra l Sun,around which our sun and other suns trave l, and that around each Sunmany, many planets are also t ra ve l l in g , there is only ONE sun and

cu only one planet. S i t means that there is NO ENDLESS SPACE, as wehave been taught no endless Cosmic realm f i l l e d with stars andplanets and moons and suns and comets and clusters of something orother, as modern astronomy tr ie s to t e l l us in order to explaina vj the things they cannot explain.

S  I t means that the Universe i s one great ba l l, i f you wish to think1■ i t that way, one great c e l l l ik e the small c e l l of protoplasm,

and that within this c e l l exists ALL THERE IS OF THIS GREAT UNIVE

As one closes one’ s eyes and contemplates such a universe, the f igreat impression that comes is that of SIMPLICITY and HARMONY. Athen as 'one considers further one rea li z es how a l l the laws of Goand nature would and could the better manifest and cooperate in sa universe, and how u tte r ly absurd and incons is tent was the oldscheme that has been fobteied upon us for so long.

I t is f it t in g , there fore, to anticipa te some questions that w il larise in your mind and thereby prevent undue concern regarding powhich wiUbe covered in d e ta i l la ter , and to prepare you for the nesteps in our study, that we outline here a few of the facts whichmost naturally result from the one fundamental fact that the univis a ce l l , x

We, as inhabitants of the universe, inhabit the inside of tc e l l and l i v e on the ins ide , and not the outside.

The sun, the moon and a l l the socalled planets and stars awithin the universe; in other words, on the INSIDE of the c

All cosmic space is inside the universe, within the definitconfines of the universe, and we know of no space or anythiels e which MAY or MAY NOT be on the outs ide o f the c e l l , i f is an outside. In other words, we do not SPECULATE regardiwhat we cannot investigate.

A l l space, a l l time, and a l l distance must be measured and sidered as within the li m it s of thi s one huge c e l l . We knothe circumference o f th is planet we l i v e in and we know i t sdiameter. These measurements consti tu te the gr eat est measuof space possible in this universe.

A ll fo rc es , a ll energies, a ll powers, are within this c e ll cannot be out of i t . This means conservation, g reater fo rcharmony, consistency.

God and the Cosmic Mind, the alldirecting intelligence, isalso within the Universe, f i l l i n g it , pervading i t , guiding

manif esting everywhere within i t , and nothing within the verse can escape contact with God and the Cosmic Mind.

 Therefore a l l l i f e , a l l consciousness, is part of the greatl i f e fo rc e and consciousness which is within the great c e lland th is means that a l l l i f e and a l l consciousness is attunin touch with and in sympathy with a l l other l i f e , mind andnature existing in the Universe.

Here we have a mass of fac ts that are not only s ta rt l ing , but whicexplain so many things and make clear so much that has been hard understand, that we see we must beg in our studies of l i f e and the

universe a l l over again. To the chemist, with the problems of na-

tu re ’ s manifesting forces, and to the id ea li s t who seeks to find thlaw of harmony of minds and nature— to these alike w i l l these fa ctsappeal as o ff e ri ng the f i r s t solut ion of the combined mysteries of the universe.

But we must now take each one of the facts , and any others we may discover, and analyze them carefully.

Let us take the f i r s t important fa ct : The earth is a c e l l .

This means that the universe consists of a hol low sphere. I t meansthat the earth we l i v e on or in is a l l there is to the universe , anthat it is a huge cell consisting of a sphere with a thick crust or

sh ell . Inside of this b a ll , on the inside of the she ll of the ba llare the continents, the oceans, the mountains, the lakes and theplains— and we, as human beings, with a l l other animal l i f e , l i v eINSIDE of this ball, on this shell.

So far this does not upset a single claim of the old schools regarding our relation to the earth and the shape of the earth, exceptthat we l i v e on the inside and that the earth is a hollow sphere. The old school to ld us that the earth is ROUND. So say we. They have said that the earth is nearly a pe rf ec t sphere. So say we. They say we l i v e on the surface of i t s crust . So say we. But we sthat we l i v e on the ins ide surface ins tead of on the outside sur fao

Let us examine the evidence that the other schools give us regardinthei r claim that the earth is round and that we l i v e on the outsideo f i t .

They say the earth is round because we have been able to trave laround i t in one continuous d ir ecti on and return to where we star tefrom. . This you w i ll fi nd in nearly a ll school geographies to be tpr inci pa l evidence given to support the statement that the earth isround. But we can grant th is, too. I t is good evidence. But i tappli es equally as we ll i f we are li v in g on the INSIDE of the spherI t is just as possib le to t ra ve l in ope continuous di re ct ion on theINSIDE of a ba ll as "it is on the outside of i t s sh el l.

There is just one other point made by the old school: I t is that wl i v e on the OUTSIDE of th is sphere, and the proof o ff ere d for th isstatement i s this: When we watch a ship sa i l out in to the ocean weno tic e that as i t reaches what is ca lle d the horizon i t appears tosink below the horizon as though i t were going down h i l l ; that thehorizon i t s e l f is due to the curvature of the earth, and the sky anwater seem to meet only because we are li v in g on the outside of theearth.

Such is the evidence that is given us to prove that we live on theoutside of the earth. I t is as r e li a b le evidence as taking you stu

dents out into a level stretch of country and saying:

"Now we w i l l prove that a l l r a i l road tracks eventually meet at apo in t and are not the same dis tance apart cont inuously." And then you are to ld to look at a long stretch of r a i l road track and notethat in the distance the tracks appear to come to a point and meet.I f you did not know be tter , such evidence might be accepted. Butone of you might say: your evidence consis ts of an occular ill us ioand at best your evidence is only a testimony of sight and we havelearned that sight cannot always be depended upon.

Now i f we ask the other schools f or be tt er evidence that the earthis round and that we l i v e on the OUTSIDE of the earth, we f ind agreat mass of facts given to us which do not prove anything one wayor another. The ecli pse o f the sun by the moon, the ec li pse of themoon by the ear th, and various othercelestial phenomena are pointeout to us as proo f that we l i v e on the outs ide of the earth. A l lthese explanations were invented years and years ago when astronomyand cosmology were f i r s t ou tl ined in theory ; and the same ec lipsecan be explained today by our facts that we l i v e on the INSIDE of the earth, and with much more reason and understanding.

Then we have those who w i l l ar ise and say: How can the sun be mil-lio ns of miles away i f i t is enclosed within th is earth which is noeven one m il li on miles in diameter? At f i r s t th is seems to be ad i f f i c u l t quest ion to answer unti l we ask the sc ie n ti st s how they know that the sun is so many mil es away. They answer by saying thathe distance i s measured by a mathematical process, the formula fo r

which begins with the assumption that we l i v e on the OUTSIDE of theear th. I f the assumption is changed to the one that we l i v e on theINSIDE of the earth, and the same exact formula used, properly r e-versed, we w i l l f in d that the sun’ s distance agrees with the assumpti on that we l i v e on the INSIDE of the earth. Such fi gu re s, then, that can be changed according to what assumption you begin with, arworth less as ev idence. So the sun’ s distance cannot be brought intthe argument at this time.

But i f you ask: "Have you any evidence for your statments that isbe tt er than the other schools gi ve fo r th ei r claims?" we can say:"Yes, we have evidence that the other schools ignore because i t doenot f i t in with what they claim and yet to us i t is the most impor-

tant evidence that one nould ask f o r . " Q :

Next week we w i l l take up the study of our new Arcane Cosmology, based upon numerous fac ts that w i l l be In te res ti ng ly presented.
