Tritium Labeling Service

TURN AROUND TIME 1-2 WEEKS

ARC routinely offers a variety of tritium labelingservices. Our basic tritium labeling service includes removal of catalyst and labile tritium. Purification will be done at extra cost which willdepend on the purification method required. Thefollowing listing details the most commonly usedtritium labeling services:

A. CatalyticReductionwithTritiumGas

This procedure normally yields high specific ac-tivity products and requires halogenated or unsaturated precursors.

B.ReductionwithSodiumBorohydride[3H]orSodiumCyanoborohydride[3H]

This procedure is rather inexpensive and re-quires precursors containing reducible functionalgroups such as aldehydes, ketones, lactones,esters, etc.

C. ReductionwithLithiumAluminumHydride[3H]ordiborane[3H]

This procedure offers products at almost theoretical specific activities. It also requires precursors containing reducible functionalgroups such as aldehydes, ketones, lactones,esters, etc.

D. TritiumGasExposureLabelingService

This procedure involves exposing precursorscontaining exchangeable protons to tritium gasin the presence of a suitable catalyst.

E. TritiatedWaterExchangeLabelingService

In this procedure the precursor is heated in thepresence of tritiated water and a suitable catalyst. This procedure offers low specific activity products.

F. N-MethylationusingMethylIodide[3H]

This procedure is usually employed to prepareO-methyl or N-methyl [3H] products by treatingappropriate precursors with high specific activity methyl iodide [3H]. It yields products athigh specific activity, usually 80-87 Ci/mmol.

Iodine-125 Labeling Service

ARC will provide quotations on the iodonationof biologically active substances using 125I. Wewill undertake the iodination of peptides at specific or defined positions. The iodinated peptides are purified by state of the art HPLCtechniques. Each product is accompanied by adetailed analytical data sheet and HPLC chromatogram.

Carbon-14 Labeling Service
