Twin Dams Karlkurla Bushland Park Centennial Park Arboretum Oasis Recreational Centre Hammond Park Boulder Town Hall Safety As a general rule, cyclists should ‘keep left’ to minimise potential for accidents on the cycleway. Helmets should be worn whilst cycling. The 12 km Gribble Creek off-road cycleway provides a trunk route from South Boulder to Hannans. It mainly accommodates recreational and leisure cyclists. There are a further 16 km of shared use paths linking this cycleway to residential areas and schools. Provisions are being made for other types of cyclists including high speed and commuter cyclists through future expansion of the cycling network as funding becomes available. The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Cycleways maps will be updated as required to fulfil this requirement. The present map contains existing on and off-road pathways only. Bookings for events are required Hammond Park DISTANCE FROM CENTENNIAL PARK: 2.8 km ATTRACTIONS: Hammond Park is a well shaded and grassed park that includes a variety of fauna for the public to enjoy as well as a historic rotunda, ornamental pond, large playground area and J G Kaspar castle and the historic Victoria Rotunda. FACILITIES: Shade structures, a variety playground equipment including a liberty swing, historic rotunda, café, seats, toilets, bicycle parking, drinking fountains and BBQ facilities. Bookings for events are required Karlkurla Bushland Park DISTANCE FROM CENTENNIAL PARK: 7.1 km ATTRACTIONS: 200 hectares of natural regrowth bushland. A diverse range of flora can be found in the park including Karlkurla (ethnobotanical name for the Native Pear, Silky Pear, Bush banana or Cogla), Eucalyptus (gum trees), Eremophilas (emu bush), Acacias (wattles), Bluebush and Sandalwood. Birds and other wildlife such as Emus, Kangaroos and Lizards may be spotted in the park. Information stands are also provided. Lookout tower offering panoramic views of bushland surrounding Kalgoorlie-Boulder. FACILITIES: Lookout tower, toilets and drinking fountains. A popular place for dog owners to exercise their pets. SUITABLE: for families, cyclists and dogs. This area is recognised as a dog exercise area provided that dog(s) are controlled and not causing a disturbance.
