Opportunity: Board of Director Member for ACE
ACE is seeking to recruit a new board director for a two year term.
ACE is the Community Development Corporation of the ʔaq̓am Community. The Board of Directors govern ACE
as a business-focused, profit-generating entity which both carries out and engages in various and diverse business
operations and activities.
ACE Vision:
ʔaq̓am Community Enterprises generates a sustainable and self-sufficient economy by optimizing community and
partner resources in a manner consistent with qanikiȼi (values and principles).
ACE Mandate:
ʔaq̓am Community Enterprises will generate revenue and create economic opportunities through sound business
practices and strategic relationships built upon a foundation of fairness and integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Governance for all ACE-owned and managed business operations
Focus on generating sustainable wealth to support ʔaq̓am Community priorities
and creating economic opportunities
Collaborate to enhance, develop and build business opportunities and partnerships for ACE
Director Skills and Qualifications:
Adequate Business, Financial, HR, and Governance experience
Understanding of legal and fiduciary responsibilities and/or enterprise risk
management
Carries strategic business contacts and proven ability to engage in stakeholder
relationships
Experience running or owning a business OR proven work-based successes in
developing successful businesses
Qualifying Factors:
Be of good character, credibility, and reputation in the ʔaq̓am Community
Not have been convicted of an indictable offence in Canada or a felony in the United States within ten (10)
years prior to the date of the application
Not be an undischarged bankrupt
Must not be a Member of ʔaq̓am Council
Have an adequate educational background and/or relevant business experience and familiarity with ʔaq̓am
and the Ktunaxa Traditional Territory
CLOSING DATE: Friday, January 31st at 4:30 pm MST
All applicants shall provide a written consent to a criminal record search.

We would like to send out a reminder that School at ʔaq̓amnik̓ will START up again on Monday January 9th at the regular time. That week will also see the start of swimming lessons for Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 on Thursday January 12th. Grades K4, Kindergarten and 1 will be staying at the school doing activities with their teachers. We would like to welcome our new K4/Kindergarten teacher Mr. Don Sawchuk, he will be tak-ing over for Ms. Pearci Walkley. Thank you for all of your hard work Pearci, we wish you well on your next endeavor. With the New Year now here, we would like to remind everyone to please SLOW-DOWN in the school zone! Warm wishes!
