GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy)

Science

Kerboodle: Overview

• All students have access to:

• Digital copies of the text book

• Lessons (small presentations listing key points)

• Resources including

• Checklists

• Worksheets

• Interactive quizzes

• Revision podcasts

• Videos

Kerboodle: Logging in

Visit www.kerboodle.com

All students have a personal login:

• Username: first initial and

surname (eg ‘jbloggs’)

• Institution code: pro7

When students first log in, their

password will be the same as their

username. If students forget their

password, please contact a Science

teacher who can reset it for them.

Kerboodle: Checklists

• Checklists are available for all

subjects and break topics into

grade 4, 6 and 8 content.

• This should be students first

point of call to establish their

own strengths and weaknesses,

thereby focusing their revision.

Kerboodle: Resources

Kerboodle also contains a plethora of

revision materials, including:

• Interactive quizzes

• Videos

• Podcasts

• Questions

• Animations

All resources exam board specific and

tailored to the AQA course.

Tassomai

Tassomai is a revision resource which helps students revise through regular quizzing. The program remembers areas of strength and weakness, and preferentially questions students on the latter to aid recall.

Tassomai is available online and via an app.

Please contact Miss Lawson or Mr Beckinghamif you have any questions.

Lab Books

• 15% of each exam will cover

required practicals, which are

conducted in class and

recorded in lab books.

• Lab books remain in school

until the course has been fully

taught. These provide students

with data and exam-style

questions from which to revise.

Additional Resources

• Students can access PowerPoints, exam questions and videos on the SharePoint

• Physicsandmathstutor.com provides exam questions for each Science, separated by topic

• For Chemistry, students can also access the ‘Positive Charge’ website for revision videos

Clinics

• A full programme of Clinics will run for all sciences, details of which will be shared with students in the Spring term.

• While students can turn up and work through the resources provided, they will get the maximum benefit by checking the topics being covered and come with questions.

• This is an opportunity to ask the teachers specific questions on topics they struggle with.

PPEs

• Students will sit two sets of PPEs. The first set being in December and the second set being in March

• In December, students will sit a Paper 1 examination in each Science.

• In March, students will sit a Paper 2 examination in each Science.

• Results will be given grades based upon the previous year’s grade boundaries

• Students may sit an additional set of questions in Chemistry. Further details can be found on ClassCharts

• Details of topics covered can be found on the following pages. Although AQA and Kerboodle separate content differently, the material covered in each topic is the same.
