1st – April Fool’s • Everything is FREE! • Launch a spoof product or service. • Announce that you’re hiring for a new crazy
position.• Change your look online.• Prank at the register for $1,000 charges or
something silly.
1st – Easter/Spring • Have your own Easter egg hunt around your shop.
Fill plastic eggs with treats for people and pets, some with slips of paper revealing a discount or free gift. Limit three eggs per customer. The best offer they get out of the 3 eggs is the one they can take advantage of.
• Easter/Spring - Everyone knows “Elf on the Shelf” –have fun hiding a bunny or duck around the store and customers who find it get a % off or free gift.
2nd – National PB & Jelly Day• Free PB bakery treat with every purchases. • Discount on all PB products• PB Licking Contest on Social Media with dogs in
your care.
3rd – Every Day Is Tag Day• Offer a free or 50% off ID tag to all customers
without one. Work with one of your brands or a partner to get reimbursed for their sponsorship.
• Make sure to talk to every pet parent about the benefits of having a current ID Tag.
4th – National Walking Day• Organize a free group walk with your clients/team.• Bring dog walking clients a special gift.• Treat your team to gift cards for new shoes.
• 7th – National Beer Day• Sample out Bowser Beer or other beer products.
Team up with a local brewery for sampling.
10th – Sibling Day• [Social Media] Ask for pictures of the dog siblings
in their family & tell their story for a coupon to use for a limited time
• [Service Providers] Promote discounts for family's with more than one dog.

11th – National Pet Day • Ask customers to submit photos for a
contest…cutest dog, best story, oldest, most unique looking, etc. You can have a variety of categories and offer prizes from brands you carry. Get the prizes compt since you’re featuring the manufacturer.
• Ask every customer to bring their pet into the shop so you can break a store record of the most pet visits in one day.
. Get to Know your Customers day –
17th – Tax Day • Invest your Refund in your Dog’s Wellness &
Behavior. Give a sweet deal on packages.• No Tax! Pay their sales tax on tax day!
19th – National High Five Day• Buy 5 items (bully sticks or bakery items) and get
the 6th free.• Give all customers a high five.• Offer tips online or a video on how to train a dog
to high-five.
19th – Get to Know Your Customers Day • Launch a new rewards program or promote the one
you have.• Call your top 10-20 customers just to say thank you.• Feature customers and their pets on your social
media all day long.
22nd – Earth Day • Plan an event to to clean up a local dog park.
Partner with local sponsors to make a green gift bag.
• Discounts on all recycled products in store, and for every customer who brings their own reusable bag.
• Promise your clients that you’ll plant a tree for every $1,000 spent on that day with your business

15th – 21st – National Pet ID Tag Week • Ask every customer if their dog has an ID tag and if
so, is the information current? Then offer a small 15% off ID tags and you’ll surely see a boost in tag sales.
26th – Kids & Pets Day • [Social Media] Ask for pictures of their kids and
Pets with their story for a coupon to use for a limited time.
Tell a Story Day (27th) or Super Hero Day (28th)• Collect stories in advance or run a contest on social
media to increase likes and also get some wonderful stories to feature!
• Partner with Local Book store library for a story telling event.
29th – Pet Parent’s Day• Host a meet up for your pet parent clients. Even if
it’s small, if you can provide any conversation starters and snacks, they’ll have a blast on their own.
• Host a Paint Your Pet Portrait Night• Interview your favorite pet parents on Facebook
Live• Do a live Q+A to answer questions for your clients.
30th - National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day • Give a % of sales to local Shelters, Have shelter pups
in the store. Or feature on your social media. • Have fun with it and play match maker!
30th – Dog Therapy Appreciation Day• Discounts for Therapy Dogs who visit your location
or donation to different groups.

your neighborhood. Supply the poop bags and trash bags. Team up with a local coffee shop and give everyone a special discount for helping out.
Throw a Doggy Birthday Day• Any dog with a birthday in April can come in for a
free pupcake or doggy ice cream with purchase.
April Showers Theme• If the weather is muddy because of “April Showers”
make sure to feature grooming wipes, pawz boots, rain coats and other clean up tools.
It’s Puppy Season!!! • Host adoption events and new pet parent nights.
National Heartworm Awareness Month• Partner with your local vet to host an awareness
event, with gift bags or coupons
