We are excited about our new uni ed worship services that began
Sunday, March 2! I had an opportunity recently to talk about uni edworship in a video posted on our website (www.lexingtonbaptist.org/one). One of the main points I wanted to make is that it is both ourdifferences and our similarities that makes us family. One of the trulygreat things about uni ed worship is that we will all be back togeth -er. We learned several months ago that our contemporary worshipservices served a genuine purpose for Lexington Baptist Church, butbecause of it four different congregations emerged. We believe it isimportant for our church at this time to come together as one body.
We have a worship team that looks at all aspects of our worship ser-vices and prayerfully puts together an order of service for each Sun-day that is reverent, energetic, God-honoring and directed to bringall of us into an attitude of worship. We believe this team is seekingthe Lords direction as we move forward in worship. Sunday morningsnow include the choir and orchestra, a praise band, a team of worshipleaders, traditional hymns as well as praise songs, responsive readingsfrom time-to-time and pastoral prayers to guide us; weve baptizednew believers and dedicated babies to the Lord; weve welcomed newmembers and recognized special events as weve done in the past. Most important, we now open the Word of God together and listen towhat the Lord has to say to each of us together.
What I am excited about as it relates to Senior AdultMinistry is the opportunity you will have getting tomeet and better know some of the young familieswho have joined our church in the past ve years. It is important that we embrace the multi-gener-ational nature of this congregation and utilize theexpertise we have here. Ill look forward to seeingand hearing from you about ways we can investourselves into our ever-growing family.
Blessings!

Remembranceby Barbara Ann Schanck
Come to the table, the table of life; The bread and the wine recall His great strife.
So freely He gave us His body to share,Our sins He did carry, our shame He did bear.
Come drink in remembrance, our ransom He won,For Jesus, our Savior, is Gods blessed Son.
So spotless and holy, so sinless is He,No shadow of turning shall we ever see.
The sin bands are broken, the grave set aside,The gates of His heaven are now open wide.
Cast down now before Him, thy crown at His throne,Our burdens He gathers and takes for His own.
O, sing in remembrance, O praise to His name,How blessed that He loves us,
How blessed that He came.
Lilies are used each year at Easterto decorate our Worship Center.

Yes, we are a missions-minded church! But as we have seen through Live the Light, we need to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ out of ourminds and into our feet and hands. We need to let the Gospel be on ourlips, as well, so that we truly are being a part of making disciples forJesus in Lexington and around the World!
If you truly have decided to follow Jesus, this particular night of praisewill stir your heart and encourage you to be about our Fathers businessINTO ALL THE WORLD.
Also, we invite you to celebrate the Praises of God through the children
of LBC! All of our Childrens Choirs will conclude their year of Worship, Arts & Music on April 27 at 6 pm, including the 3 year-old Lil Angels, four and ve year-old Music Learners and our rstthrough fth grade WAM children. Blessings,

The Passage is one of our milestones in the student ministry, and ourmilestones recognize and celebrate a spiritual landmark in the life of achild. If you have a 7th grader, then this is for them
AND for you! The Passage is a weekend getaway tocelebrate together this coming of age achievementin a way that both glori es God and strengthens thefamily.
The Passage: for 7th GradersWouldnt it be great to have con dence in communicating with yourteenager? You know, so they understand what you are saying insteadof looking at you like youre speaking another language? Bridging thisgap, along with many others, will be the framework for The Passageweekend, May 2 through 4. Another big take away for the weekend is
that youll be able to give your student a special blessing in a way thatwill bring glory to God and makes them honored to call you Mom andDad. Do not miss out on this unique opportunity!

This month, we are allowing our kids to love on other kids. We know long-term hospital stays for children can be lonely. We want to show these kids justhow much we love them!
During the month of April, our kids will be decorating pillowcases to be de-livered to the children of Palmetto Richland Childrens Hospital as well asfocusing on praying for children with illnesses. It is our hope that these small
surprises will brighten their day and remind them that they are prayed forand loved.
Join us April 30th for all the fun!

I have heard before that being a parent is the closest we will come tounderstanding Gods love for us while we are on this earth. As my childrengrow, I cannot help but see how my relationship with them parallels mywalk with the Lord.
When my boys were babies and had episodes of sickness, I rememberwell laying on the oor by their cribs. I did not want to leave their side.I wanted to be as close to them as possible. Even now, when they arehurt or sick, I want to hold them and be right there with them. If I can-not stand the thought of leaving them alone, how much more must our
Father want to hold us and comfort us when we are hurt or sick.
I think about how I can be in the depths of sleep and all it takes is the word Mommy being uttered fromone of their mouths, and I am up. If I cannot ignore that small voice in the night, how much more must theLord turn his attention when he hears one of us call out his name.
I also think about the pathway from my bedroom to theirs. The countless, endless trips I have made backand forth, especially when they were babies. I can walk that path with my eyes closed. Lord, I pray the pathfrom me to you will be so familiar, so well worn in prayer, that I can run to you and not get lost along the way. God has given us such an adventure through the blessing of motherhood. I pray He continues to grow ourfaith and trust in Him as we follow this amazing calling.

When you give to missions at LBC, youre becoming a part of something so much bigger than this church bodyand this building on Main Street. We believe in making disciples of Jesus Christ in Lexington and around theworld, and we take great pride and pleasure in ministering to people in our own community and beyond. Take a
look at some of these amazing stories about the lasting impact missions can make, written by members of ourown church family.
As we rode our bikes into a smalltown called Qorakol, a group ofyoung men called us to stop intotheir restaurant. I shared my tes-timony with one of them namedJamshid, and he listened very at-tentively. Then he shared with mean oral tradition kind of story hehad heard that sounded similar tothe Pharisee and tax collectorparable. This created a perfectopportunity for me to tell him howthe Bible teaches the good newsthat were saved by grace, not byworks.
~ Keith Stokeld
Saved by Grace Approximately ve months ago, during a Monday night feeding of thehomeless at Columbias Finley Park, we met a person named Sharon. She is approximately 60 years of age, grew up in a Christian family andher 87 year-old father is a pastor. The conversation further revealedthat she is a born again believer that has a drinking problem.
I shared with Sharon that when I became a believer at the age of 40,I continued to smoke cigarettes and drink alcoholic beverages. How-ever, at different points in time I felt the need to ask the Lord if it wasokay for me to continue those habits. He answered with two distinctmessages, very easy to comprehend, that told me that it was wrong. Iexplained how prayer enabled me to withstand each and everytemptation, and that the Lord eventually removed the desire for both.
I told Sharon that I would be praying for God to do the same for her, and, I reiterated how important it was for a believer to stay in theWord, to pray and to follow Him. I have talked to Sharon twice sinceour initial meeting and she hasnt had a drink in the last three months.
We praise the Lord and give Him the Glory; will you please join me inpraying for Sharon?~ Ed Meek
Finding Common Ground
The Impact of Mission
In July I was privileged to serve missionary families who live in Central Asia by caring for their young children.God gave me brief times for conversation with their Moms that were very impactful for me. My heart was touchedas Shelly told me how appreciative she was that I was willing to give of my time, and that I had come so far totake care of her children. She also expressed how much it meant to her that I had noticed that she was havingtrouble with one of her eyes and had let her know that I was praying for healing for her. God again broadenedmy perspective on what He is doing in His world, and I thank Him for that!
