1. Discussion of Long Range Planning Meeting Agenda Items- items discussed: standardized CNA testing skills, evaluators who are reviewing internationally educated students attending the June meeting, implementation of 2018 legislation, 2019 legislation items. Dr. Newman also requested input for any potential rule changes the Board Members would like to discuss. The Board Members agreed to have the Long Range Planning Meeting start one hour upon the adjournment of the Full Board Meeting.

Dr. Newman encouraged new Board Members to participate on Probable Cause Panels and to ensure they can keep their commitment to the dates and times signed up for. Mr. Baker provided dates with a current Board Member vacancy, as well as an overview of the requirements for the calls.

Dr. Newman notified the Board Members that she and Ms. Forst will be attending the Board Chair/Vice Chair meeting in Tallahassee on April 23rd.

B. Board Members

Ms. Johnson- Will be attending the NCLEX Examination Committee meeting in Chicago this month.

Dr. Glymph- Attended the NCSBN ARNP roundtable discussion, as well as the mid-year assembly in Chicago.

Ms. McKeen- Also attended the NCSBN mid-year meeting in Chicago. Very enlightening, particularly discussion related to potential skill losses, utilization of technology, workforce reduction.

Ms. Desmond- Attended the mid-year meeting in Chicago as well. Discussion of opioid crisis, marijuana guidelines required for ARNPs and Board of Nursing, licensees who have prescription for medical marijuana.

Mr. Baker thanked NCSBN for the flowers for Diane Johnson. Mr. Baker also notified the Board that he is working with the Governor’s Office to fill the remaining 2 vacancies on the Board. He, Board Staff and Board Counsel have provided presentations in Tallahassee to local students at FSU College of Nursing, regarding the application process and eNLC. He attended a Compact Commission meeting on March 4th,

working towards finalizing implementation of the eNLC, and will attend another meeting in August. The QUIN Council will be holding a meeting in May in Orlando and Ms. Sutton-Johnson will be attending. He thanked staff and counsel for their hard work, especially with processing the influx of eNLC upgrade applications (over 13,000 applications so far), and provided some statistics for the Board Members. Nicole Benson will be providing two presentations about the Compact to nursing organizations in April and May.
