President’s Message Please note that the Open House is scheduled for Sunday, April 14th,
2013. This will be followed by the Annual Meeting on Monday, April
15th, 2013. Your meeting information package contains a numbered
ballot. This is the ballot which must be used for voting for the two
director positions. If for some reason you have lost or misplaced your
ballot you must make arrangements before the meeting to have it
replaced by contacting Greg.
The sponsorship commitments of Ajay Dilawri of the Dilawri
Group of Companies and Craig Lothian of Keystone Royalty
Corporation for the Annual member guest tournament have now
concluded. I want to thank them both for their exceptional support
of this event; it far exceeded all expectations. On a go forward basis
the club is reviewing the format for this event. We are looking for
other sponsors. Any inquiries in this regard should be directed to
Greg.

General Manager’s Message
As I currently look out my office window it is hard not to remember the same view one year earlier. Last year we had already pulled the tarps off the greens to examine for any damage. I had walked the entire golf course appraising all the Strategic Plan work and the practice fairway was only a day or two away from opening. What a difference a year can make. Having said that the entire management team are gearing up for another great year here at the Wascana. All departments have been working hard over the off season to continue to improve the product, service and services offered. More specifically, in consideration of last October’s mem-bers’ food and beverage survey and in combination of working with an industry consultant, a new Strategic Plan has been developed for our Food and Beverage Department. We have estab-lished a set of measurable objectives that once delivered are intended to not only make the Food and beverage experience more enjoyable but to ensure an improved bottom line is achieved. As usual I encourage members to complete “comment cards” on all operating divisions of the Wascana Country Club and/or do not hesitate to contact me directly. The Management and Staff remain committed to deliver the Club’s vision, that “We enjoy provincial and national status as a premier country club offering pristine playing surfaces, the finest service, programs and amenities to our Member’s and their guests”. Finally, I encourage all members to attend our Open House on Sunday April 14 . The 2013 Mas-ters will be in full swing and coverage will be broadcast during the duration of the Open House. All members are also encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting on Monday April 15. As part of the Annual General Meeting I will be delivering a power point presentation on operational updates as well as a review of our Strategic Plan Phase 1 and looking ahead at Strategic Plan Phase 2 and beyond. Greg N. Dukart General Manager

Message From the Women of the Wascana Preparations for the 2013 season are in full gear, now we just need to wait for Mother Nature to cooperate. We are very excited for the coming year and have planned opportunities for all the women of the Wascana. The Executive extends an invitation to every woman to come out to the Opening Dinner on May 1st. Not only will this be a great opportunity to catch up with friends you might not have seen over the winter, but also a chance to meet the 2013 executive and hear what we have planned for the upcoming season. Invitations will be in the mail shortly and we look forward to your RSVP before April 23rd. Team Tuesday Co-captains: Carie Brandvold / Michelle Inglis Women’s Team Tuesday Section would like to remind all the ladies that our “Welcome Coffee Party” will be held Tuesday April 30th at 10:00 am. We encourage all ladies interested in our Tuesday morning golf group to join us. We will be discussing our year ahead, exciting changes and our fixture card. Team Tuesday is for women who like to play 18 holes of golf Tuesday mornings. Teams of four are randomly selected from the members who have signed up in our Team Tuesday binder. This gives you the opportunity to golf with a different group of fantastic ladies each week. The cost per round is $5.00 with proceeds going to first and second place teams in our fun format competitions, and to support the activities of our section. If you have any questions regarding Team Tuesday, please feel free to contact Carie Brandvold directly @ 306-761-1782 or by email @ [email protected]. 9 Hole Ladies Co-captains: Jean Cameron / Marilyn Boyd We are eagerly anticipating being back in the “swing” at Wascana for the 2013 season. Our Coffee Party on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:00AMis the perfect opportunity to visit with members of the Section, learn what events your 9 Hole Executive has planned for the season and welcome new golfers to our group. If you’re a new member to Wascana and wondering what Women’s Section to join, please feel free to come for coffee on the 30th and get to know the 9-Holers. The first day of scheduled golfing is a Fun Day for all 9-Holers on Tuesday, May 7th. Lunch will follow golf and give us another opportunity to “mix and mingle” and share our golf stories. Business Ladies: Captain: Lindsay Folk We look forward to catching up with everyone on Thursday, April 25 at the Business Women’s Opening Social and meeting. Please join us in the North West Room at the Wascana beginning at 5 pm for some appetizers, drinks and seeing everyone again after this long, long winter! Our team of Marion Moffat, Donna Gilroy and myself are looking forward to a fun season and hope that you will consider joining our section and golfing on Tuesday afternoons. See you out there!
