Wow this year is going by fast. I am in the middle of preparing the end of year report for the District and it is somewhat overwhelming. We are a very busy club. The activities we participate in on a regular basis are numerous. Then when you add the activities we do from time to time, it is incredible.

We have a very busy month coming up in April. On Saturday the 11th we have District Assembly. We will begin preparing and planning for Clete’s year. The next Monday the 13th we will be joining the students from Nichols Junior High School at the Perot Museum. We will have a board meeting on Friday the 17th. Then the very next day, Saturday, we will be participating in the Adoption Awareness Picnic.

May is busy also with the Inspiring Hope Luncheon on Wednesday the 6th, our annual Golf Tournament on the 11th, Read with Rotary at Webb on the 13th and 14th and then end the week with a board meeting on the 15th.

We have so much going on in our club. Watch the Hubcap and announcements, and mark your calendars with the opportunity you would like to participate in and let’s Light up Rotary together.

Paul Harris Presentations were made to Lynn Stavinoha, Tom Cravens, Al Clark, and Jack Garbo.

Clete introduced our speaker, Stephanie Gillespie, from the Arlington Police Department. She currently serves as the Community Support Manager and has been with the department since 1995. She is a graduate of our very own UTA with a Masters in Social Work. She has done so many wonderful things for our city. She works with the homeless population here, as well as with at-risk youth. She published the City of Arlington’s 10 year plan to end homelessness and has worked many hours on this very real problem we face here in Arlington. Her fight against racism is another one of her priorities. Thank you Stephanie for sharing your passion and insight with us here at Rotary!

The program closed with a standing ovation and a book was donated to Webb School Library in her honor.

We recited the Four Way Test and were dismissed by our President, Joyce Stanton.
