LIFELONG SERVICE

I am going fishing. What an announcement! If asked who made it, and not told it was a Bible quote, we might guess Grandpa or Uncle Fred, or admit, I said that last summer! But it is a Bible quote, from today's Gospel. The person who said it also once declared, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Yes, it's Peter! So today's announcement seems quite the comedown. Last Sunday Jesus said, As the Father has sent me, so I send you. But Peter seems determined to return to his pre-apostolic occupation, until Jesus intervenes, making Peter's later an-nouncement deeper, Lord, you know that I love you, and Peter's apostolic calling clearer, Tend my sheep. Peter does so. Acts presents the consequences: Peter declares, We must obey God rather than men. As Revelation proclaims, Worthy is the Lamb --to receive Peter's lifelong service, and ours. LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK If you really want to get to know someone, invite them to dinner. Sharing a meal with someone opens up the door to a deeper, more intimate, and more authentic encounter. When we gather around a table, we are more vulnerable and are reminded not only of our need for food and sustenance, but also the love of friends and community. We are meant to be together. Meals can be opportunities not only for authentic meetings, but for healing relationships, for understanding one another better, and for renewal. Jesus invites us to dine with him once again at today's Eucharist. He receives our pain and blesses our wounds. We are forgiven, set straight, renewed, and reconfirmed in our task of discipleship. Love is celebrated here again. May we bring that love to those who need it most, especially those we may find difficult to love and to those who have hurt us. Share with them the bread of compassion and the wine of mercy.

Want to Encounter Jesus Christ!

Come join and learn the richness of the Catholic Faith.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process for initiating adults, teens and children into the Sacramental Life of the Catholic Church.

Catholics; do you know a family member, friend, or neighbor, who has drifted away from the Catholic Church?

VIVIR LA LITURGIA - INSPIRACIÓN DE LA SEMANA

Si realmente quieres conocer a alguien, invítalo a cenar. Estamos destinados a estar juntos.
