Praise and glory to you, creator Spirit of God; You come like the wind of heaven,
unseen and unbidden. Like the dawn you illuminate the world around us; you grant us
a new beginning every day. You warm and comfort us. You give us courage and fire
and strength beyond our everyday resources. Be with us, Holy Spirit, in all we say or
think, in all we do, this and every day. Amen.

Our souls magnify God, and our spirits rejoice in our Savior,
for the mighty One has done great things for us. Holy is God’s name.
God has looked upon me with favor. From now on, all generations will call me
blessed,
for the mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is God’s name.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is she who believes,
for the mighty One has done great things for us. Holy is God’s name.

Loving God, we confess that we criticize and pass judgment upon others. We seek
to control the way others live their lives of service to you. Forgive us for our
short-sightedness and sin. Help us to appreciate and love our sisters and brothers
in Christ, both younger and older, for we are all valued members in the household
of God.
(our prayer continues in silence)

“Do not press me to leave you or to turn back from following you!”
“Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be
my people, and your God my God.”
Likewise, God will not leave us. God, who forgives us, frees us and gives us peace.
Thanks be to God.

Creator God, we thank you for women who are filled with your life-giving Spirit,
for women with words from the divine;
for women who advocate for justice;
for women who speak truth;
for women called by God to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ.
We lift our voices in gratitude for women who give the gift of knowledge,
proclaiming your saving grace, in pulpits and women’s groups, session tables
and kitchen tables, boardrooms and family rooms, Sunday schools and
quilting circles.
We lift our voices in gratitude for named and unnamed women who lead us in God’s
way. For Ruth and Naomi, whose destinies were intertwined,
we thank you, God,
for Mary and Elizabeth, who blessed each other,
we thank you God,
We are grateful, Loving Creator, for these women and their witness and love.
We are grateful, Loving Creator, for all the faithful women, walking together,
serving Christ in the world.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will
be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory,
forever. Amen.

After Jesus rose from the tomb in which he was laid, he appeared first to Mary
Magdalene. She went out and told the disciples that she had seen the Christ, but when
they heard that he was alive, they would not believe it.
Then Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news
to the whole creation.”
And they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere.
So, go out and spread the good news everywhere, just as the women and men
before you. And celebrate, young and old, the message of our God.

BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN MISSION PROJECT
First Presbyterian would like to lend support to our local crisis Pregnancy Center,
Cleveland Care Center through a baby bottle campaign. The Baby Bottle Campaign is
an easy way we can contribute to the needs of the Cleveland Care Center. The
Cleveland Care Center is funded by donations alone. The Center desires to help
young mothers throughout their pregnancy, with parenting and life skills while sharing
the love and compassion of Christ.
Pick up a baby bottle from the Mission table in Upper Narthex. Each family should fill
up a bottle with coins, dollar bills or a check (make checks payable to FPC and write
Cleveland Care in the “for line”) throughout the month and then return it back to the
church by Sunday, May 17, 2015. Each bottle will have a ticket in it for a drawing,
place your name on the ticket and put it in the big baby bottle on the Mission table.
After church on May 17, 2015, we will draw the winning ticket and someone will
receive a special gift. Help us with this painless way to make a difference in the life of
families in need in White County.
June 7th Scripture & Song Service
We Have a Story to Tell
What's your favorite Bible verse or story? What's your favorite hymn(s)? Who took
you to Sunday School as a child? What are the circumstances that brought you to
faith?
If you are willing to share these tid bits of faith during worship, please let Pastor Andy
know. We'll sing and celebrate our faith together!
