Thank you!
I want to thank all for continuing your contributions to St. Pius. Every day parishioners are walking up
the sidewalk to the front door and pushing their contributions through the mail slot Dave and Joe cut
in the door. At times folks are masked up and I need to guess who you are – as I am looking out my
office window. So I want to thank you for your continued financial support for your parish and the
opportunity this creates in this “virtual” world of ministry the St. Pius staff needs to operate in these
days of “isolation.”
Virtual Ministry
During this time the church is scrambling a bit in order to continue reaching out and connecting with
the faithful. There are so many television/YouTube/virtual Masses now that I believe everyone has the
opportunity to celebrate the Mass no matter where they are. We will continue to bring the Mass to
the St. Pius faithful and from the sounds of it, people are very appreciative of our efforts. Celebrating
Mass in an empty church is quite weird, though. I would much rather have you in there with us cele-
brating. I so look forward to the day we can all be back together as the Body of Christ.
Sacraments during this time
Of course these days we are being asked not to administer the Sacraments as in order to do this, most
of the time, we need to gather and that is a no, no. Couples who were or are now planning their
weddings are being asked to rethink what this could look like for them down the road as venues are
cancelling on them. The pastors in the city have agreed to officiate weddings with just the couple and
the witnesses. We are only allowed to do burials when someone passes on with the plan of celebrat-
ing a Memorial Mass for the deceased in the future. At the discretion of Gov. Walz and funeral homes
if family desires a funeral service a gathering of 10 or less must be adhered. Baptisms are in question as
well and need to be communicated between the family and the pastor. First Communions, Confirma-
tions have all been placed on the back burner. I WILL administer the Anointing of the sick in case of
danger of death. So this is where things stand in the sacramental department.
Cast your nets to the right side of the boat…. These uncertain times are no doubt asking us to celebrate
our faith, hope, and love in different ways. The gospel we read for Friday, April 17th within the
Octave of Easter, John 21:1-14, was so apropos for this time. Jesus tells his disciples, “Cast your nets
over the right side of the boat and you will find something.” We are being asked to do so. May we
continue to heed the voice of the risen Lord as we continue our journey of faith, hope, and
love. God bless you all. Stay safe and well.

GAMES and PRAYER
Join us on Wednesday nights for online hangout and
prayer time for high school and middle school
students. Equal parts hang out and praying with one
another. A great opportunity to stay connected and
lift each other. The meeting ID changes from week to
week so please contact Katie Stinson at
[email protected] if you would like the link to join
us!
Here are the three things you can do to help
your children, at any age, grow in their faith
right now are:
1. Pray together regularly, in whatever way feels
right for your family - meal prayers, memorized
prayers, offering your own intentions, music,
reading from the Bible, etc.
2. Participate in Mass together. We understand
it's challenging and different from your computer
or other device. Do your best to create a
prayerful atmosphere. Maybe light a candle or
say a prayer together before you start. Feel free
to pause it if kids are being crazy, or rewind it if
you missed a part of the reading.
3. Stay connected with us. Please let us know
what you or your kids are in need of at this time
or if you have an idea to assist others.

May Eddie and all the souls of the faithfully
departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Our Emmaus
Jesus himself came near and went with them. . .. And he
said to them, “What are you discussing with each other
while you walk along?”( Lk 24: 15-17).
Risen One, Full of Compassion, you are with me as I
walk the continuing road of sorrow and joy. You listen to
my longing. You fill me with the strength of your loving
nearness.
He walked ahead as if he were going on. But they urged
him strongly, saying, “Stay with us. . . .”So he went in to
stay with them.” (Lk 24:28-29).
Risen One, Trusted Companion, I desire to be with you.
Stay with me. Your presence nourishes my hunger. Your
love feeds my desire for goodness. Stay with me. Stay
with me.
Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him
(Lk 32:31).
All around me, Easter is happening. God continues to
reveal love, to extend invitations to growth, to offer
hope. What is God's latest revelation to me ? How has
this changed my life ?
Risen One, open our minds and hearts. Let us see and
welcome your presence.
“Were not our hearts burning within us while he was
talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scrip-
tures to us?” (Lk 24:32).
Risen One, Sacred Teacher, you send me forth with bless-
ing. You bid me tell the powerful story of your risen life.
May I tell this story again and again through the witness
of my life, by the quality of my love, and by the courage
of my words.

Need for Masks
Our Lady of Guadalupe Free Clinic in Worthington, MN started as a simple dream between two friends to reach
out to those in need and provide medical care for a few people who were concerned about their health
care. Over the past years, OLGFC has grown and is currently serving the needs of the uninsured in southwestern
Minnesota. Our clinic is operating approximately every two-three months at the office of Worthington Chiro-
practic Center in Worthington, MN. The patients of Our Lady of Guadalupe Free Clinic are in need of masks. Of-
ten multiple generations live together and sometimes multiple families in one household. With the rapidly grow-
ing outbreak of COVID-19 in Worthington, masks are in great need. If you sew and are able to donate masks,
they will be distributed to the patients to wear in the community and while caring for their loved ones. The CDC
website has directions for making masks. Masks can be mailed to: Our Lady of Guadalupe Free Clinic
