VCGP present on 3 Construction projects in Cambodia
We claim a way to do our business in the
interests of all stakeholders in our projects.
We claim an attitude of social responsibility
in our employer approach, as in our policy of
inclusion and civic engagement, and we
display especially in our manifesto
commitments.
Our ambition is to become in Cambodia, a
reference for the implementation of
infrastructure projects with a social
responsibility.
Who we are
Strive for ZERO accident
• We reject the idea that workplace accidents are unavoidable.
• No reportable accident on the Airport Extension projects (>2.5M
worked hours)
• No reportable accident on the WWTP projects (200k hours)
• No reportable accident on the NIROTH project (400k hours)
Strive for ZERO accident
• These results come from various actions:
– Anticipate and prevent workplace Health and Safety risks
– Ensure that working conditions are safe, healthy and do not pose any
hygiene risks
– Make sure the staff has the right PPE for the right job
– Explain to the workers, at the start of every activity, the risks involved
– Train the staff on H&S –1.6% of worked hours are achieved.
Care for our labour
• Site areas include daily updated panels informing of the risks
involved during construction
• We strive to provide a working place with a high level of facilities for
the workers
• Site facilities include changing areas, canteens, permanent toilets,
water dispensers, …
Care for the Environment
• We commit to apply the European good practices on sites, and to
educate the local staff on these matters
• Segregation of the wastes, of hazardous materials,… are examples
of what is being done on a daily-basis
Promotion of Green Growth
• Partnership with GERES Cambodia, to carry out, at an early stage:
– Baseline impact assessment of the WWTP project
– Emission reductions impact due to waste valorisation
– End-line impact assessment of the WWTP project
– Second stage could involve a Quantification of the GHG during
Operation and End-of-Life Phases
• On the WWTP projects, GERES have demonstrated up to 25% of
Carbon footprint (inc. embedded) have been saved, thanks to
substantial works on initial design.
• This represents a saving of 726 tCO2E, for the construction phase
only – equivalent to 260T of waste diverted from the landfills.
Foster equality and diversity
• Our culture is based on bringing together people of different
backgrounds and experience
• We commit to diversifying our supervisory staff to include more
women people of diverse origins.
• We raise up the standards of engineers, by sharing with our
employees and sub-contractors, the European good practices.
