Come and join up for a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of the Elizabethan play writer, William Shakespeare. We will arrive at 11am for coffee and then board the canal boat ‘The Countess of Evesham’ for a cruise along the river Avon and be served a 3 course lunch. Pick up 9am at Crown Centre, Chestnut Avenue and Hillingdon Underground Station at 9.30am. If you are interested in coming with us, please let Vera Hunt or the Chaplain know and also any special diet requirements.

The Annual Church Meetings will be held on the following

dates.

Hayes & Acton Deaf Churches Sunday 15th April at 4pm, following the Church

service at Crown Centre.

Enfield Sign Church Sunday 13th May at 4pm following the Church

service.

These meetings are important so that we can review the past year and look forward with new ideas and events that will share God’s love to new people in our communities.

IEWG conference 2018, Frankfurt 15th – 19th October The International Ecumenical Working Group (it is a long name!) is an organization for those who work in churches in pastoral care, education and spiritual care. The last conference in Budapest, Hungary two years ago was excellent and I would recommend anyone who might be interested to go. The Chaplaincy has some funds available to help with costs. The cost €590 for full board accommodation. There will be workshops, lectures and visits in the local area. More information at www.deaf-iewg.org and www.dafeg.de Please be in touch with the Chaplain for more information and requests for grants.

New Wine Summer Conference Are you looking for in-depth Christian teaching with other Deaf BSL users? Then why not book on the New Wine teaching week at Shepton Mallet?

Week 1 28th July – 3rd August Week 2 5th -11th August

Interpreters will be available both weeks, but Week 2 will have one of the seminar streams led in BSL by a Deaf preacher/ teacher. Accommodation is camping (tent or caravan) which you bring yourself, or they can be hired on site. If you prefer a bit more comfort then there are Bed & Breakfast options nearby. Signs of God run the interpreting team and provide a large tent in which everyone is welcome to relax during the day and get information about seminars. If you want to find out more check out www.new-wine.org or ask the Chaplain.
