Paint “Daisy on Black”
with Michelle Pollhein
April 15 ‐ 10:00 am
Severna Park Library
Hello everyone,
I wonder how you all have survived this wacky win‐ter/spring weather? I am very anxious for the “real” spring to arrive. I must thank all of our teachers, par cularly Erin for stepping in to organize our Memory Box event in February. What a great idea! I hope you all enjoyed pain ng with Mary in March and we look forward to another fun class with Michelle in April. We are so blessed to have such wonderful teachers in our group. :)
And before you know it Sail Away will be in our rear view mirror. It’s such fun to look forward to and then whoosh! It is over before you know it. To me that is always another sure sign of spring.
Don’t forget to sign up for Jillybean in June. When you are doing your spring cleaning, put aside some goodies for our fall auc on. Always good to plan ahead. :)
Paint with a spring in your brushes, Janet

Seminars The Jillybean Fitzhenry seminar on June 2‐4, 2017 informa on is in this newsle er. The deadline is April 15 and prep instruc ons will be distributed at the May chapter mee ng. All projects are painted on the surface of your choice. The daily seminar fee is only $40.
New – seminar will be held at the Bar Harbor Marina located at 208 Bar Harbor Road in Pasadena, MD. It is
off Fort Smallwood Road near the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
We have no seminars scheduled a er this one. Please think about the educa onal opportuni es you want the chapter to provide that you will par cipate in. The last three seminars have cost the chapter several thousand dollars. There was a discussion at the March chapter mee ng about alterna ves and the board will be coming back to members with recommenda ons. It is very important for you to a end the next chapter mee ng or to send me your answers to these ques ons or other thoughts you many have:
1. Would you rather have 2 day na onal teacher seminars instead of 3 day seminars? 2. Do you want na onal teacher seminars? 3. Do you want to bring Lynne Andrews back? (This was the last well a ended seminar in 2014)
4. Would you be interested in a weekend retreat at a Girl Scout camp? 5. Do you want more challenging all day projects taught by chapter members? 6. Do you want to give chapter funds to members to a end seminars or classes?

Programs & Seminars, cont.
Janet Davis and Debbie Reeder discussed the issue of future
seminars, no ng that only 25% of members are taking ad‐
vantage of the seminars, but more than 50% a end Sail Away.
We currently get about 10 members per day at seminars, but
need at least 25 people per day to break even. A hearty dis‐
cussion ensued about how to handle funds from our fund rais‐
ing efforts to benefit the educa on of our members and it was
decided that at the next Board mee ng, the Board members
would come up with a proposal/policy on a way to “share” the
proceeds of our funding so that we could find ways to involve
more of the membership.
There being no further business to discuss. Joyce Roerink
moved and Elaine Smith seconded that the mee ng be ad‐
journed. The mee ng adjourned at 11:03 AM.
