The following have been approved for lawns in West Meadows: St. Augustine, Bahia, Bermuda, and Zoysia...as well as, green vegetative ground cover such jasmine minima, kept under 6 inches tall. Whatever you choose to grow for your lawn, you are
responsible for your choice and for maintaining it in a clean and attractive manner. You
are responsible for keeping it trimmed, mowed, free of weeds, bugs, and dead spots. You will spend a considerable sum replacing your sod. It is highly recommended that your research your options so that you do not have to spend an additional considerable sum replacing a mistake. For more information on the allowed grasses see the UF/IFas web site: http://hillsborough_fyn.ifas.ufl.edu/FYN%20PdF%20Files/selecting%20turfgrass.pdf Comments of the various grasses are: st. augustine is often used in coastal areas because it is very salt-tolerant, but it requires more fertilizer and water. It also can be prone to pests, such as chinch bugs. Bahia requires the least amount of maintenance, but it is not salt-tolerant. Bahia also
Sod Alternatives Approved for West Meadowsis prone to damage by mole crickets. Bermuda, which is used on golf-course greens, requires the most fertilizer, pesticides and water, plus careful mowing. It
requires intensive maintenance. Zoysia grass exhibits a dark green color, and wide bladed leaf. It performs well in the hot, humid environment as is in the state of Florida. It performs well in the sandy, clay soil. It requires less maintenance than say Bermuda, and has a pretty good shade and cold tolerance. Zoysia grass is a turf grass used in Florida for both commercial and residential landscapes. Zoysia grass is adapted to shade, salt and traffic. It is slow-growing (less mowing!) and forms a very
dense carpet. Jasmine minima is an evergreen groundcover that grows six inches tall and will spread up to ten feet. It can be grown in the sun or the shade and is easily maintained with an edger. It is a low maintenance, drought tolerant groundcover that is best used in shady situations were turf grass will not grow.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
Husband and Wife Team Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and
Dermatology Open Clinic in Wesley Chapel Women have many choices when it comes to cosmetic surgery and skin care. Board-certified plastic surgeons and board-certified dermatologists are uniquely trained to provide these services. together, drs. Raj & aparna ambay provide tampa’s first center for coordinated care. “Quality and safety should always be a priority”, dr. Raj ambay, a board-certified plastic surgeon, recommends patients look past
marketing hype by checking the board certification of their doctors with the Florida dept of Health and the american Board of Medical specialties. “Your health and safety is too important to accept a
compromise”. dr. Raj ambay completed his general surgical residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Following his residency, he completed a plastic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a cancer fellowship with the National Institutes of Health, and a second sub-specialty fellowship at Md anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he specialized in microsurgery and tissue transplantation. “Microsurgery and tissue transplantation allows me to perform the most advanced forms of breast cancer reconstruction. Knowing how to reconstruct a breast requires
an artistic eye and comprehensive understanding of anatomy. that knowledge is the foundation for delivering superior results in cosmetic surgery”. dr. ambay brought his medical
expertise to the tampa area in 2010 when he relocated here with his wife, dr. aparna ambay and their daughter amani. dr. aparna ambay, a board certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, she completed her residency and the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. at 360 dermatology, dr. aparna ambay not only performs non-invasive cosmetic procedures but also specializes in Mohs surgery, a precise tissue preserving surgical technique used to treat skin cancer. It is the only on-site, state certified Mohs facility in Wesley Chapel. “the goal is to remove all of the skin cancer while preserving surrounding healthy tissue,” said dr. ambay, who also said that a substantial portion of her patients choose to have their skin cancer defect reconstructed by dr. ambay, the plastic surgeon, rather than waiting weeks with an open wound. dr. Raj ambay is also a reservist,
Lieutenant Colonel and an army veteran. He was deployed to Iraq in 2011 and spent four months stationed in a combat hospital supporting a special Forces unit. When dr. ambay entered
Tampa Institute of Plastic Surgery and 360 Dermatology Doctors Raj and Aparna Ambay
the combat zone he recalled his commander saying, “the force behind you is far greater than the challenges ahead of you”. “When I returned from Iraq, I felt like that was the same reason to open a medical center. In early 2012, tampa Institute of Plastic surgery and 360 dermatology opened in an office complex in seven oaks behind sam’s Club in Wesley Chapel. In addition to the convenience of two disciplines working together, patients like the state-of-the-art technology. every suite in the practice has high-tech features such as Ipads mirrored on large LCd screens to enhance patient education. on Feb 5, 2012, aBC action news featured dr. Raj ambay as the first practice in Florida to use HIPPa-compliant email and texting technology. this technology provides updates to anxious family members on the status of their loved ones while in surgery, at the same time, and anywhere in the world. another first by the ambay’s is their use of video technology to host consultations and after surgery
check-ups. “our patients like the option of meeting with us through their computer or smart phone because they don’t have to put their life on hold to visit the doctor” said dr. aparna ambay. the facility is a spacious 4,000 square feet decorated in inviting, warm colors that
make patients feel at home and at ease. the ambays chose Wesley Chapel for their practice because of its family friendly environment, convenience to I-75 and rapid growth. “Plus, we live close by and so we are a part of the community which we also serve”.

Why does a woman consider plastic surgery or cosmetic dermatology? “Our patients are intelligent women who frequently say that they have spent their lives taking care of everyone else but themselves. Now it’s their turn to do something for themselves”, said Dr. Aparna Ambay. “If cosmetic surgery and beautiful skin improves a woman’s self esteem and overall well being, then why not”?

ASK THE EXPERT
You finished your tax returns and discovered you’ll be receiving a nice refund. You’re not alone. the IRs reports that the average american received a refund of nearly $3,000 in 2011. But before you start dreaming of a tropical vacation or a shopping spree, consider how that money could help you shore up your financial situation. Here are seven suggestions to consider. 1. Pay off credit card debt. Maintaining any balance—but especially the maximum—on a high-interest credit card costs you money every month. Pay off or cut down your balance and, depending on your account balance, you could save hundreds of dollars in interest fees this year.
2. Boost your emergency fund. experts recommend stashing the equivalent of three to six months’ worth of income in an emergency fund. If your account is low, has been depleted or doesn’t exist yet, use
your refund to help cover your expenses in an emergency. 3. Ramp up retirement savings. according to a 2012 poll by the Pew Research Center, approximately 38 percent of
U.s. adults are not confident they’ll have the money to retire. If you’ve gotten behind in your savings, this may be the place to put your tax refund. depending on your situation, age and income level, contributing to a traditional IRa or a Roth IRa is an option worth looking at. 4. Start or add to a college fund. even if your kids are young, those college tuition bills will be arriving before you know it! seek out an educational savings plan and get a head start on your child’s education. 5. Make an investment. Consider putting your refund money to work for you. talk to your state Farm® agent about your options. 6. Improve your efficiency. Investing in home improvements can pay off in reduced energy
bills. For example, replacing an old refrigerator with a new eNeRGY staR®-rated unit can save you $200 to $1,100 over the lifetime of the appliance. 7. Bolster your life insurance. If it’s been awhile since you reviewed your insurance coverage, this may be a prime opportunity. as life progresses and your situation changes, you may find you’re underinsured. Your state Farm agent can help you determine the level of coverage that’s right for you. Neither state Farm nor state Farm agents provide tax, legal, or investment advice. Please consult your tax, legal, or investment advisor regarding your specific circumstances. For additional information contact State Farm Agent Ardeshir Khorsandian at 813-991-4111.

YOUR ApRiL Gardening Calendar What to Plant Annuals: New varieties of coleus do well in sun or shade and provide vivid colors and patterns for months. Bulbs: planting early-, mid-, and late-blooming varieties of daylily will insure months of color from these low maintenance plants. Herbs: Add nasturtiums to your herb garden. The leaves and flowers add a peppery zest to salads. Vegetables: Continue planting warm season crops such as bean, cantaloupe, and okra. Mulch well to prevent weeds, and provide water if the weather has been dry.
What to Do This MonthPests: Monitor landscape plants weekly for aphids on tender new growth. Flowering Plants: Check for thrips if leaves and/or flowers of gardenias and roses are damaged. Divide perennials and bulbs: Divide clumps of bulbs, ornamental grasses, or herbaceous perennials to expand or rejuvenate garden beds or to pass-along to friends. Lawn Problems: Many lawn problems, such as lack of water, mimic insect damage. Confirm the damage is being caused by insects before applying a pesticide. Shrubs: Choose from a wide variety of shrubs to add to the landscape now. Lawns: Apply fertilizer after new growth has started. Choose a fertilizer (not a "weed and feed") with little or no phospho-rus unless a soil test indicates the need for it. A fertilizer with controlled-release nitrogen yields longer-lasting results.
What to Do Every Month• Dead head flowers to encourage new blooms.• Adjust irrigation based on rainfall.• Monitor the garden for insects and disease.• plant trees, shrubs, and perennials and water until established.• Mow lawns at recommended heights: • St.Augustine&Bahia:3-4” • Centipede: 1.5-2.0”• Dwarf St. Augustine: 2.5”
