NEW WATER METERSBecause of the law we are now obliged to install new water meters so as to measure the amount of water used in each apartment. With immediate effect AQUAGEST LEVANTE, the official water provider in our region, will

charge for water used in each apartment. In order to make things easier we can send your details to Aquagest, but first we need your permission. If you wish us to do so please complete, sign and return the authorization which you will receive at your apartment – otherwise you will have to attend the Aquagest office in order to be registered. You will run out of water if you don't register.Installation of the new meters will cost you nothing. If you need any clarification please contact us.

The residents room at Forum is now available for general use. This room is situated in the top right hand corner of the main function room (next to the kitchens). This room is for the exclusive use of residents, their relatives and friends. Here you can watch television (the remote control is available from Reception) or movies (it has a CD & DVD player), read, use your laptops (wifi available) or just sit quietly with a drink. The room is also available for general functions. The British residents already use it on Monday nights for the quiz and Thursday night for bingo. If you would like to book the room please contact Maria at Reception. We would like to have one wall available for residents' paintings or old photographs. If you have a painting or photograph of your home town, your country or one that has a special meaning for you please contact Reception. Also, when you have finished with your newspapers and magazines please leave them in this room for the enjoyment of other residents.

Some doubts have emerged concerning the article published in our last magazine on this subject. Many people are unaware of the need to insure their home workers or how to do so. Any worker hired through a company should already be insured but if you want to be sure of this ask the company for a letter proving that he/she is properly insured because if the worker has an accident or makes a complaint the company could deny that the worker belongs to them in which case the person who hired the service would be responsible for dealing with matters. If you hire someone directly this person must provide a document proving that he/she is an "independent" worker (“autónomo”) - if not you have the legal obligation to register (“dar de alta”) this person at Social Security just for the hours he/she works in your house. For this it is necessary to fill in several forms. Social Security will charge you every month an amount calculated in accordance with the hours worked in your home. The procedure of registering a worker is quite complicated, so it would be better to entrust it to a private agency. The information that we have provided applies only to workers at your home who clean, prepare meals, care for someone or perform similar duties. but not to other workers such as electricians, plumbers or other sporadic workers. If you need any more information please do not hesitate in making an appointment with management.

DANCE THERAPY - A DANCE FOR BODY AND SOUL

Health is not simply an absence of symptoms, but it is something else. According to the World Health Organization health is based on physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Many disease processes need months and even years before finally being diagnosed. Therefore, health is much more than how someone feels right just now. Good health is the body's ability to adapt to changes (physical, mental and chemical stress) without losing its own internal balance. The faster and easier that adaptation is achieved the better will be overall health. It is when it becomes difficult for your body to adapt or respond to a physical, mental or chemical stress that the body cannot deal with things and finally loses its internal balance. It becomes weak and eventually sick with the appearance of several symptoms. One of the products of this adaptive power is the proper functioning of the nervous system.Health is an optimal well-being on physical, mental and emotional levels and it is not merely the absence of symptoms or disease. Good health can be built by having good habits throughout your life. These habits can be summarized in three main factors: The Chemical Factor: to promote good nutrition and avoid the ingestion or inhalation of toxic substances. The Mental Factor: emotions, autosuggestion, positive thinking. The Physical Factor: proper rest and mild or moderate physical activity according to your age.

rd3 Age Health A randomly selected sample made during three years by the Rand Corporation investigated the value of chiropractic care in people older than 75 . Those under chiropractic care had better general health and a better quality of life compared with those who did not receive the chiropractic follow-up. Chiropractic patients were less likely to be hospitalized or to need assistance at home or to make use of drugs, had fewer chronic diseases, were more likely to exercise and move than those not receiving chiropractic care. In addition, 87% of chiropractic patients described their physical condition as being from good to excellent. If you want to receive further information on how you can better care for yourself why not attend the free talk

thon chiropractic practice given in the conference hall of Forum Mare Nostrum at 7.30 pm on Tuesday the 17 of April. The talk will be given in English and Spanish.
