Founded 1931
2012 - 47th Oklahoma International
Exhibition Of Photography Doug Finch APSA
The club’s association with “Salons” began early in the club’s existence in 1937 as
one of the nine US cities displaying PSA’s First Annual 100 - Print Travel Salon.
The club tried originally to begin an exhibition in 1946. Then with the sponsor-
ship of the State Fair of Oklahoma, the OCC revived the salon in 1963 with the
First Oklahoma International; we have just successfully completed the 47th
Oklahoma International Exhibition of Photography.
We received 3,587 total entries this year from 44 different countries; the judges
accepted a total of 1,154 for all divisions, approximately 33%. The entries totaled
1,670 in Color Projected Image Division (CPID), 1,078 in the Nature Division
(ND) and 839 in Photojournalism Division (PJ). As you can see here with these
medal winners, we received some incredible images from all over the world, you
will have the opportunity to see many more of the accepted images in our
program showcasing the Oklahoma International scheduled for May 22.

The March edition of the PSA Journal listed a total of 125 judging's being
conducted all over the world covering the time frame from March through the
remainder of the year with three listed in the first quarter of 2013. I counted
20 in the US. While this is a large number, more exhibitions are added to the
list with each month’s new edition of the Journal as the completed
exhibitions are removed.
The exhibitions listed cover all of the divisions recognized by PSA - 20 in the
Color Projected Image Division, 21 in the Electronic Image Division, 34 in the
Nature Division, 18 in Photo Travel, 18 in Photojournalism, 15 in Pictorial Prints
and 2 competitions in 3D. 18 of those listed are circuits with multiple judging’s.
While circuits save paperwork for all competitors, they are particularly appealing
to those entering print competitions as they reduce the printing and postage
cost significantly. You package up and ship (email digital) your Cont’d page 4 . . .

entries to the first judging and they
handle the shipping through the final
judging when you are sent a report card
with the results for all of the judging’s.
Our club encourages participation in
the International Exhibitions by working
to obtain reduced entry fees for group
entries and mailings.
Jaci and I would like to recognize some
of the club members who spent a lot of
time and effort helping make all of this
possible. Two members who handled
receiving and setting up all of the
entries for judging, record keeping, report cards and the catalog were John
R. Key and Wally Lee APSA; you
will also see the results of their efforts
when the program is presented at the
club meeting. Wally did a great job
handling the entry fees and paying the
bills as well.
The judging for each division was
managed by a club member, Ward
Conaway handled the CPID, Dale
Donlon managed the Nature Division
and Tom EPSA, and Carol
McCreary APSA, PPSA, took care of
the PJ Division. They did great jobs.
And the refreshments were outstanding.
Debbie Devonshire took care of
arranging for the refreshments along
with the help of Aloma Anderson and
Lorraine Caddy.
We had two club members help with the judging of the entries, Charles Taylor
APSA, and Greg Mayberry, along
with seven photographers from OK, TX,
KS and as far away as IA and GA. We
sincerely appreciate all of the help from
everyone, thank you, thank you.

have missed having them around. Kurt has an interest in all types of photography
and is an outstanding photographer. Welcome back Kurt, looking forward to your
membership renewal and a lot of outstanding Hawaii images.

Geographic! I've always wanted to take ‘National Geographic’ photos. Well . . .
I'm not there yet, but I do really enjoy taking photos especially nature. I have
taken a few photography classes but would like to learn more and continue to
improve.”
Thank you Jennifer, we sincerely appreciate you taking on the responsibilities of a
Board Member for the club. You will provide a lot of help.

To Salon Team and All Club Members from a Salon Judge
The thanks go to you, Doug & Jaci, and the club for honoring us to judge this
exhibition. It has been a fantastic experience in many ways - the camaraderie,
learning from others, and an exchange of ideas; all are fabulous, never to be
forgotten times. Of course, the bountiful and delicious snacks were well ap-
preciated - and to top it off, we got paid for this enjoyable event!
Thank you, Oklahoma Camera Club. May you ever go on to higher projects,
which you truly know how to run like the experts you are! The members kept
everything going smoothly from set up to tear down. You are a remarkable
club, for sure!

Edmond Fine Arts Institute of Edmond 27 E. Edwards, Edmond OK
The club is looking forward to having our prints displayed at the Edmond Fine Arts Institute
again this year during the month of June. Wally Lee APSA will be coordinating the effort as he
has in the past. The prints are hung around the first of June so he will need to collect your
contributions by mid- May, the earlier the better. The pictures must be framed in a black "Trend
Setter" Fame from Michael's. We would prefer the frame to be the 16 X 20 size. Picture can be
any size that will fit the frame and must be matted in a pure white mat. The pictures will be
displayed at the Edmond Fine Arts Institute and should be appropriate for Children. Because the
Institute takes a percentage of the sale price, we place a price of $125 for each framed print.
Members have sold a number of prints at this show and it is always worth taking a few minutes to
stop by and walk through. Wally will need the title for your image as he will be making the name
tags for the prints.

looking for models and other contributions. If you have an interest, please let
them know. Wally and Jan Lee conduct a Beginning Image Workshop on the

discussing any images you would like to bring. Please check page 2 of the
