Join me in congratulating Bill Robinson, 70-S as the first recipient ofthe Alumni President’s Citation. Please read the article in the BlogArchive on our website for Brother Robinson’s 50 plus years ofservice to our Fraternity and especially Epsilon Eta.
As California and other states begin to reopen restaurants, sportingevents and other venues, we are currently planning our first face toface Alumni Chapter meeting on Thursday August 19, 2021 at 6:00PM at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Fresno. We’ve also added a ZoomAlumni meeting for Thursday June 17, 2021 at 7:00 PM PDT.
I hope you also read the featured article on Consul Jordan Ayerza,17-F. He is the first Consul in Epsilon Eta history who will serve foursemesters in this role. Thank you, Brother Ayerza, for yoursleadership and for guiding Epsilon Eta during the very challengingtimes of the pandemic.
The White Cross and the Jordan Standard have been our beacon toguide and protect us in the last year and a half. Never more than everis the meaning of our motto, In Hoc Signo Vince meant more. It’smeaning, “In this sign you will conquer.” Since 1855 Sigma Chi hasfaced many world challenges and COVID-19 is at the top of that list.May we all have added new luster to the White Cross of Sigma Chi!

We made it through a year and a half of COVID!! It’s amazing whathas transpired since the onset. We are beginning the summer with 18active brothers living in the house.
We are currently considering reconditioning the front yard of thehouse. We are reaching out to those alums thatmight be able toprovide resources or help with landscaping, lawn installation or care,irrigation, etc. I am also looking for a brother who might have a spraypainterto paint the new Greek letters on the back gates. Please contactus as soon as possible as we would like to complete the project thissummer. We will also be power cleaning the floors and kitchen inJune and doing our annual maintenance and repairs.
It is with great appreciation, but not without reservation that we sharewith you the departure of board member Darin Tockey. BrotherTockey (S ’88) has served us since 2011. At that time Darin tookover the reigns as board president, and has since served as ourtreasurer and vice-president. Thank you Darin for your 10 plus yearsof dedicated service and support of our chapter. It has been mypleasure serving with you. It’s great to be a Sig!

Our brotherhood is continuing to evolve and find more ways to beinvolved in our community during these difficult times. One suchway we are continuing to play an active role in our community isthrough our upcoming golf fundraiser with alumni which will takeplace on June 26th, 2021 at Dragonfly Golf Club in Madera.
Sponsorships will also be available at the tournament with the firsthole available for $200 and all other holes $100. Another way that weare playing an active role in our community is through our upcomingChipotle fundraiser which will take place on June 5, 2021, between5 pm and 9 pm at the Chipotle located at 4978 N. Cedar Ave (SEcorner of Cedar & Shaw).
