rdNLC celebrated 123 birth anniversary of Dr.Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar with a great devotion on

14-04-2014. Shri B.Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC garlanded the bronze statue of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar at

Pudukuppam Junction and recalled the struggles undergone by Dr. Ambedkar for uplifting the

downtrodden.

Functional Directors, senior officers were present and graced the occasion. Shri J. Ganesa

Moorthy, General Secretary, Shri S.M Navaneetha Raja, President of SC&ST Employees Welfare

Federation spoke on the occasion. ST Welfare Association members, Trade Union representatives,.

Large number of employees and public attended the programme and redeemed their gratitude.

To deliver an excellent patient care, NLC General Hospital has recently renovated the

Emergency Care Unit and the pathology Depatment. Shri B. Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC inaugurated

the renovated and upgraded Trauma Care & Laboratory buildings on 07.04.2014 at the Hospital

premises. The existing casualty unit of the hospital is being shifted to a spacious Trauma Care Centre

and is upgraded to a 6 bedded unit with modernized Mini Operation Theatre with all advanced life

supporting equipments.

The Pathology Laboratory buildings were renovated at the cost of ̀ 20 lakh and augmented with

an automated microbiology and immunology investigation equipments, on par with corporate hospitals,

with a cost of ̀ 38 lakh.

Functional Directors, Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, Shri Rakesh Kumar, Shri S. Rajagopal,

Shri M.S. Ravindranath and Shri S.Boopathy witnessed the event. Dr. K. Janardhan, CGS, Dr. K. Usha,

GS, doctors and staff of NLC GH, senior executives, representatives of trade unions and associations,

attended the function.

Shri B. Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC, delivered a special lecture on “Frugal Engineering” at the

valedictory function of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Neyveli Local Centre of Institution of

Engineers (India), held on 04.04.2014 at the Institution Hall, Neyveli.

Earlier, CMD garlanded the statue of Dr. M. Visvesvaraya and unveiled the plaque in

commemoration of the inauguration of construction work for the guest house dormitory. He also

honoured 13 engineers who presented research papers at the recently held Indian Engineering

Congress, Chennai. Er. S. Rajagopal, Director (Power) and the President of the Institution of

Engineers (India), Neyveli Local Centre, presided over the function.

Er. M. Anbalagan, Honorary Secretary of the Neyveli Local Centre of IE(I) welcomed the

gathering and Er. A. Sekar, and Joint Honorary Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.

Neyveli's Town Club which is managed by an executive committee nominated by the NLC

management is poised to get new Shuttle Courts for the benefit of the employees.

Shri Sarath Kumar Acharya, Director(HR), NLC laid foundation stone and offered Bhoomi

Pooja on 23.04.2014, for constructing an indoor stadium at Town Club. This indoor stadium spreading

over an area of 5000 sq. ft. with two shuttle courts each measuring 44 ft. x 20 ft., is to be built at an

approximate cost of Rs. 64 lakh. The courts will be ready for use in eight months.

Shri N. Ilamparuthi, ED, SME & Conveyor/Mines and the President of the club, office bearers

and members were present on the occasion.

Shri B. Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC inaugurated Vettri Padi (Step to Victory) the motivational th thTraining Programme for around 400 students,who have been promoted from 9 std to 10 std from

the surrounding Tamil Medium schools on 01.05.2014 at Lignite Hall, Block-11 . This programme was

jointly organized by NLC & Neyveli Tamil Sangam under the aegis of NLC CSR Scheme .

Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, Director/HR, NLC presided over the function. Shri C. Senthamil

Selvan, ED/ Mines, Shri D. Ravindran, CGM/CSR and Smt V. Malliga, District Educational Officer,

Cuddalore felicitated during the occasion.

Earlier, C. Duraikannu, DGM/Civil & Secretary, Neyveli Tamil Sangam welcomed the

gathering and Shri P. Sathiamoorthy, DGM / Education proposed the vote of thanks.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Neyveli celebrated its Annual Day with lot of enthusiasm and fervor on th

30 April 2014 at the school premises. Shri B. Surender Mohan ,CMD, NLC, Shri S.K. Acharya,

Director/HR & Chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC), graced the occasion as Chief

Guest and guest of honor. Shri N. Mutthu, CGM/HR, Honorary member/VMC and officials from NLC

Education Department, attended the celebrations.

School children showcased Indian culture through creative cultural extravaganza with

variety of entertaining programmes, which enthralled the spectators on their annual day.

Shri R. Radha Krishna, Principal/KV, Neyveli, Staff of the School and large number of parents

in particularly from CISF community well attended the programme.

Neyvelians celebrated 'Panguni uthiram' festival with a great fervor in the Lord Siva

Subramania Swamy temple on 13-04-2014.

The ritual of Kavadi (a bamboo pole carried by devotees) is the hallmark of this festival. Mass

of pilgrims carrying kavadis and chanting the name of Lord Murugan, marched to the Villudaiyanpattu

shrine to redeem their vows.

On the way to the temple, many Senior Officials, different units of NLC administration

offered “Annadhanam” to devotees by installing stalls. All the three days large number of people

gathered with families for darshan of Lord Muruga and enjoyed the big mela.

NLC's CISF unit observed “Fire Service Week 2014” with a theme 'Fire Prevention is the Best

Insurance', from 14.04.2014 to 20.04.2014. CISF explored various Fire Protection Awareness

programmes like, Fire fighting , Mock Drill Exercises, Training session, Various competitions and

Distributed Safety Slogans as Week-long activities etc.

Shri B. Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC participated as the Chief Guest of the valedictory function of

“Fire Service Week 2014” held at CISF fertilizer ground on 21-o4-2014. He appreciated the Services of

CISF. A mock fire drill was arranged by CISF to demonstrate how to control the different types of fire

edified the spectators.
