Spiritual Communion Prayer “My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.”
Daily Mass is Available everyday at https://ststephensmidland.com
Your Ongoing Giving is Deeply Appreciated!
We recognize suspending our weekly Masses is a massive change for all of us. We want you to know the church is still open for private prayer and we are
recording our daily mass and Sunday Mass each week during this time, available through our parish website at https://ststephensmidland.com
The parish staff is still working hard to meet your needs. While we are suspending our in-person services for now, much of our operations must
continue to sustain and care for the Church. Your giving still matters. Over 90% of our operating budget comes from your donations. We as a parish need your
support. For many of you, your weekly donations traveled with you as you attended Sunday Mass. We encourage you to either mail in your weekly donation or better
yet, to sign up for recurring giving online. I realize we live in difficult times. However, I ask you to continue your generous support of St. Stephen's Catholic
Church. Give what you can to share with your parish family, God will bless you and
he knows your every need. Please prayerfully consider making a donation today to support your Parish.
Always remember – You are the Church. You are the Body of Christ.
With profound gratitude, Fr. Rodney, Fr. Freddy & The St. Stephen's Administration

Unity in the Body
“I, then, a prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the
call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with
patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the
unity of the Spirit through bond of peace: One Body and One Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all,
who is over all and through all and in all.”

Helping Hands of
Midland 1301 Brinson Lane
(432) 520-8900
Our most heartfelt thanks go out to all of the many, many people who responded so generously to the $100,000 matching grant offer made to Helping Hands! The goal was quite easily met in one week’s time. But as you can see from just what we did last week that money will certainly not last (nor did we expect it to). Last week we met with 52 Midland families, all of which were affected by job loss due to COVID-19. These were all people who were barely making it as it was…restaurant workers, daycare workers, hotel workers, housecleaners. The vast majority of these people had never before asked us for help. Every one that we met with had filed taxes the previous year so they should be eligible for stimulus checks, and all had either filed, or in the process of filing for unemployment. With the vast numbers of people in the same predicament it is very difficult to get through on the computer to file for unemployment, and we ask our clients to please be patient and just keep trying. We pray that many of these people will get their checks in time for May rent. In the meantime, we will continue to use your donations to help those people adversely affected by job loss related to COVID. We pray that our money holds out long enough to help all those who come to us for help. We remind you again, we are a totally volunteer organization, with absolutely no money going towards salaries, so you can be assured that every penny you give us will go to help those in need. And the only time we will say NO to a legitimate need is when the money is no longer there to give. God bless all of you for your compassion for those in need, and thank you for letting us be your instruments in reaching out to them!
