Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
Modular Construction Quality delivery of classrooms and schools
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
1. Most of the modular construction
takes places offsite, at a factory;
2. Minimal traffic from workers,
equipment and suppliers;
3. Fast-track installation allows to
simplify the coordination of a
construction schedule with the school
calendar;
4. Minimal noise, dust, debris, equipment
and materials that can lead to
accidents;
Modular
Construction Minimal Disturbance
to Learning
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
Highly coordinated, streamlined construction and installation process. The traditional construction schedule is significantly reduced, sometimes as much as by 90%.
* Original based on custom requirements.

Modular
Construction Economical
• Modular construction offers
a much more economical
way to meet schools’
facilities demands in
comparison to on-site
construction;
• We anticipate savings in
waste production, time
and building costs;
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
1.Modular schools are
constructed with comparable
building materials as any other
on-site school;
2.Built to last, modular schools
can withstand heavy damage;
3.Life span of 25 years!
Modular
Construction Durability
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
1. A modular classroom or building can be custom
designed and constructed to meet the specific
needs of a particular school;
2. Portability: a modular school can be easily
assembled and disassembled. The modules can
be relocated or refurbished for new use;

Durability and
Resistance A selection of sustainable
materials
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
1. Exceptionally fast installation rate;
2. One piece of equipment guarantees professional
installation;
3. Load bearing capacity is equal in tension and
compression – ideal for variable load situations;
4. Requires only lightweight installation equipment –
can operate on soft terrain without the need for
piling mats. Minimal equipment required, easy
handling;
Durability and
Resistance Foundation and Support
systems – Screw Piles
5. Ideal for restricted access sites and usable where
headroom is limited and even from floating
platforms;
6. Uses laser level accuracy, within +/-3mm tolerance
necessary for modular construction;
7. Minimal noise and vibration, with little disturbance
of the soil. Clean, no excavation needed for auger-
driving operation;
8. Environmentally friendly as no grouting required
and can be reused or recycled;
9. Reduced costs, reduced delays. No land site
damage or pollution;
10. No removal of spoil, and no casing or dewatering
required;
11. Build site planning is reduced to marking for exact
location and desired height;

SCREW PILE VS CONCRETE
SCREW PILES CONCRETE FOUNDATIONS
No atmospheric condition limitations except frozen soil.
Limited to dry periods and temperatures above freezine point
Reusable, Recyclable & Eco-friendly. Non-reusable and NOT Eco-friendly.
Reduced costs, reduced delays. No land site damage or pollution.
Excavation required, land site damaee. long delays and limited life expectancy.
Minimal equipment required, easy handling. One man job - most of the time.
Multiple pieces af equipment, more than One worker on site.
Clean, no excavation needed for auger-driving operation.
Leftover soil, excavation is required, Heavy concrete mixers - damaje to lawn and asphalt driveways
One piece of equipment, fast garanteed professional installation.
Excavation, formwork, concrete and many hours for instaUation. Often no guaranty.
Build site planning, is reduced to marking for exact location and desired height.
A full-time on-site manager to pLan operations and direct work.
Durability and
Resistance Foundation and Support
systems – Screw Piles
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
• Durability
Rigid, closed cell PU insulation is not affected by water vapor or
air infiltration, it cannot sag or slump, and is very difficult to
squash, all of which gives a better guarantee of high
performance over the life of the school;
• Versatility
PU insulation includes both PUR and PIR insulation, is used in all
kinds of applications and appears in many different forms;
Durability and
Resistance Polyurethane insulation –
Walls and Roof
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
• Environmental impact, health and safety
- Over its useful life PU insulation saves more than 100 times more energy than was used to
make it;
- PU is manufactured without the use of ozone depleting gases;
- PU is safe and chemically inert;
• Air Tightness
- PU insulation guarantees a high level of vapor and air resistance throughout its product life;
- Allows for efficient and material-saving solutions to achieve the air tightness of the building
envelope;
• Cost
- High thermal performance, low weight, low permeability and ease of installation;
Durability and
Resistance Polyurethane insulation –
Walls and Roof
Popup School - Concept and Benefits | August 2013
1. Non Toxic
Does not contain dangerous volatile compounds and is free of silica, asbestos and formaldehyde;
2. Sound Insulation
•It has good sound insulation properties due to its high weight;
•The sound insulation index varies according to board thickness. Airborne sound resistance is 31 or 37 dB
depending on whether board thickness is 8mm or 22mm, respectively;
3. Weight Resistant
•The board has a bending strength that enables it to be used as a resistant structural element. It is therefore
used in flooring and as roof support;
•The characteristic breaking strength on bending is 10.5 N/mm2 with an elasticity modulus of 6000 N/mm2;
4. Easy Installation
•It can be cut, drilled and sanded;
•The tools and fastening systems used for Viroc boards are identical to those used with wood
5. Fire Retardant
It prevents the spread of fire. According to the ignitability test conducted, it is classified as B-s1, d0 in
accordance with EN 13501;
6. Insect Resistant
It will not degrade with the action of living organisms such as fungi, termites, or any kind of insects;
7. Thermal Insulation
It has good thermal resistance properties, meaning that it can function as insulation in both cold and hot
temperatures;
8. Moisture Resistant
•Under the action of water it does not disaggregate;
•It is a material that is impermeable to water and also resistant to water vapor;
