Naked Egg Experiment Materials: One or more raw eggs Large glass jar or big drinking glass White vinegar Pen or pencil Method: 1. Put the egg into the jar or glass. Do not crack the egg, just place it carefully into the glass! 2. Pour vinegar into the glass until the egg is completely covered in vinegar. 3. Leave the glass for 24 hours. 4. After 24 hours, look at the egg. What do you see? Are there any bubbles on the outside of the shell? 5. Pour the vinegar away into the sink. Be very careful not to drop the egg! Maybe use a sieve to drain away the liquid. 6. Put the egg back into the glass and cover it with fresh vinegar. 7. Leave the glass for 48 hours (2 days). 8. After the 2 full days, look at the egg and see if there are any changes. 9. Pour the vinegar from the glass down the sink. 10. Carefully pick up the egg and rinse it under the cold tap. What do you see? The eggshell should be completely dissolved, making a naked egg!
