[David picks up a stuffed skunk someone threw on the stage.]

David [motioning for the crowd to be quiet]: shhhhhhhhhhh. One second one

[David puts stuffed skunk by his ear and squeezes it, causing it to say something]

David: That's very sweet, thank you.

[David tosses the skunk off to stage left.]

David: How's everybody doin' tonight?

[crowd cheers]

David: Oh, dude. I'm like, I'm really excited to be home but, I'm also

kinda...wondering how many ex-girlfriends I have in the audience, so

[crowd cheers. Someone in the audience does something to make David laugh.]

David: Oh love it, I love it. So like what? Five? Six?

[Someone else in the audience does something to get David's attention.]

David: What? What's sh-- [ puts one finger in the air ] One. Yeah, yeah.

David [Speaking as if he were the audience member]: You're a jerk, thanks.

David: Aw man, thank you guys so much for comin' out tonight. Dude, this is a trip.

[crowd cheers]

David: I see uh, I see my mom, and my bro. And sisters, and my grandma, and...so

at least I know I got half a row that's cheerin'. Got half a row.

[crowd cheers]

David: Oh you guys wanna cheer too, huh? Everybody wants to cheer? Yeah.

David: This next song is the uh, the first song we wrote with this record of mine. I

got to write it with a hero of mine named Raine Maida, and this is called "Mr.

David: I uh, we got into town about, I'd say nine, ten o'clock this morning. We

played at Arkansas last night, and uh...

David: Why is that worth murmuring about? [whispering] You went to Arkansas??

[crowd laughs]

David [whispering]: Oh nooooooo.

[David laughs]

David: At any rate, uh yeah, I got in this morning and uh, my, my, my dad was, um,

was kind enough to give me a ride. Back to the house.

[crowd cheers and murmurs]

David: Again with the murmurs. [whispers] He's got a dad?? Oh noooooo.

[crowd and David laugh]

David: And uh, we dr-- we, we actually passed our exit to go to the house. I'm like:

"Dad, what are you doin'?" And he goes [mimicking father's voice]: "We, we, we

gotta go look at this, son. We gotta go look at this." And uh,

[crowd cheers]

David: We drove under uh, Little Blue, the exit for Little Blue...

[crowd cheers]

David: Well on our way to the Wood's Chapel exit, and uh...I'll be damned if there

isn't this green sign with my name on it.

David: Um...this isn't an Oscar concession speech, and I'm pretty sure if I keep

talkin' they're gonna play me off (motions to band ). But uh, to everybody involved

in that sign, and that's everybody that, that, that put it up, everybody that, that



signed whatever you had to sign to make it happen, uh...it's everybody that voted,

everybody that tuned in. Thank you guys very much.

David: So, so we were uh, I was, I was out,uh, by the buses earlier, and uh, from the

parking garage these two people, they go: "David!" and I turn around uhhhh"Hey

hey" [waves] And then they yelled at my little brother Andrew, who's roughly there

[ points].

David: Ladies, if you see him, compliment him on his beard. It looks good. [laughs]

David: You know what? As a matter of fact I, I, I know, I know we're in a little bit of a

time crunch. Could you come here for a second? Please?







[crowd claps and cheers as Andrew climbs out of his seat and heads toward the

stage]

David: I didn't know you were gonna do THAT.

David [to Andrew as he's coming on stage]: What's happenin'? Uh, you know, just

climb up. It's only a couple hundred people looking at your backside while you crawl

up on stage. No bigs, right? Oooh, nice undies.

[Andrew makes it on stage and hugs a crew member]

David: So come here for a second, come here.

[Andrew walks over to David and puts his arm around him]

David: Does he --[crowd is cheering] ladies, ladies, ladies. Does -- [crowd still

cheering] whoa whoa whoa whoa -- does he, or does he not look like Joaquin

Phoenix? Just be honest.

[crowd laughs as Andrew points at someone in the crowd saying "no"]

Andrew: No.

David: No?

[Andrew points to someone else in the crowd saying yes]

Andrew: Yes.

David: I told him earlier today I was gonna bring him on stage. I think he thought he

was gonna sing. But instead, [laughs]

David [to Andrew]: Maybe uh, maybe you'd like to grab a mic and potentially help

on this next one. We're gonna let Kyle start.

[David directs Andrew to look at setlist taped to the floor]

Andrew: Yeah

David: Can you, do you know that song?

Andrew: Uh I don't know per-- like, 100% --

David: You know the chorus though, right?

Andrew: Um,
