Approved Specialist ProgramsOur Approved Specialist Programs in Engineering, Artsmedia and Australian Rules Football commence in Year 7. Each specialist program is delivered via 4 hours of tuition per week. These programs equip your child with in-depth knowledge and skills to pursue a career in these areas.

Our programs offer your child:• Practical, inside knowledge and guidance

from specialist teachers and industry experts to help your children develop job ready skills.

• Tertiary and/or industry links to give your child access to university or training organisations.

• Excursions and participation in real life projects, competitions and exhibitions to inspire students to turn their skills into a career.

Facilities The $63 million Governor Stirling SHS redevelopment provides state-of-art facilities to support and enhance your child’s learning experiences.

ArtsmediaThe Artsmedia Specialist Program provides students with in-depth industry knowledge and access to the latest technologies. The program provides students with a foundation into pursuing a career in the creative media industry; journalism, advertising and related communication fields. Students have the opportunity with state-of-the art computer laboratories to develop skills in film television, multi-media, animation and graphic design. Our high end technology facilities will equip your child with in-depth skills and knowledge into leading creative media professions, engaging with real life projects, competitions and exhibitions.

Australian Rules FootballThe Australian Rules Football Specialist Program provides boys and girls the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge of the game, including aspects such as fitness, umpiring and sports administration. This program combines expert coaching and skills development with a high quality curriculum of academic and vocational courses. Students who complete the Australian Rules Football Specialist Program will graduate with a Certificate II in Sport and Recreation. Your child will have the opportunity to play games and participate in competitions state-wide and travel interstate with tours to Adelaide and Melbourne.

EngineeringThe Engineering Specialist Program provides a foundation for students interested in pursuing a career in the engineering industry and mining related fields. Students have the opportunity to develop skills in structural design, robotics, mechanical and electrical. This program equips students with the in-depth industry knowledge and job ready skills they need to pursue a career in the rapidly expanding engineering sector. Your child will be challenged and inspired to engage in real life engineering projects, workshops and competitions.

Entry into the Approved Specialist ProgramsEntry into an Approved Specialist Program is through a selection process. Students can apply directly to the school by simply filling in and returning the provided application form on the reverse of this page, along with required documentation* to;
