ATTENDANCE Nancy Humbles, President; Directors Gary Anhalt, Jennifer Borcherding, and Rafael Jacobo. Absent: Directors Kristin Janssen, John Laverty and Mary Meisterling. Also present: Noreen Bush, Eric Christenson, Laurel Day, Rod Dooley, David Nicholson, Akwi Nji, and Linda Noggle. President Humbles called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF AGENDA It was recommended that the revised agenda of Monday, September 9, 2019 Board of
Education Regular Meeting/Work Session be approved as set forth, and that each item is considered ready for discussion and/or action.
Upon motion by Director Gary Anhalt, and second by Director Jennifer Borcherding the Board approved the revised agenda of Monday, September 9, 2019 Regular Board Meeting/Work Session and that each item is considered ready for discussion and/or action.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT Superintendent Bush highlighted the recent renovations at Kingston Stadium which includes ungraded turf and the addition of an 8th-lane to the track. She announced the Community Open Houses that have been scheduled for September 16th and 25th to allow stakeholders an opportunity to provide input regarding the new elementary school project at Coolidge. CRCSD recently launched a podcast featuring Dr. Ryan Wise, Director of Iowa State Department of Education. Lastly, Superintendent Bush congratulated staff member Molly Sofranko who was recently named as the 2019 Secondary Art Educator of the Year by the Art Educators of Iowa. BOARD REPORTS Director Borcherding highlighted the work of the District’s Policy Review Committee and NAACP Freedom Banquet. ADMINISTRATION BA-20-105 Resolution – Revenue Purpose Statement (David Nicholson)
It was recommended that the Board of Education approve the Revenue Purpose Statement Resolution and submit the approved Resolution to the County Commissioner of Elections to be included with the November 5, 2019 School Board Election ballot.
Director Gary Anhalt made the following motion: “I move that the Board of Directors approve the Resolution – Revenue Purpose Statement to be included with the November 5, 2019 School Board Election”. Motion was seconded by Director Jennifer Borcherding.

It was recommended that the Board of Education approve Resolution -Scheduling of Public Hearing at the September 23, 2019 Board Meeting for the issuance of school infrastructure sales, services and use tax revenue refunding bonds not to exceed $31,000,000.
Director Gary Anhalt made the following motion: “I move that the Board of Directors approve the Resolution – Schedule Public Hearing - Issuance of NTE $31,000,000 School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Refunding Bonds, in one or more series”. Motion was seconded by Director Rafael Jacobo.

WORK SESSION BA-20-108 New Elementary Construction Update (Noreen Bush/David Nicholson) Members of OPN provided an update on the process being used to develop and design
the new elementary construction project. Results from the benchmarking trips, input provided from staff members from Coolidge Elementary, design sessions for future community input sessions, and initial drafts/vision products developed from the input sessions were shared. Information Item.
