AECOM’s multi-disciplinary teams managed and conducted BUILDER-based facility equipment inventories and facility condition assessments for the 88th Army Reserve Regional Support Command. Assessments totaled 603 buildings and 9.9 million square feet at 198 installations across 18 states.

AECOM provided planning, project management, architecture, engineering and construction support services for Camp Dawson’s LEED® Gold-certified Army National Guard Joint Interagency Training and Education Center in Kingwood, West Virginia.

AECOM provided comprehensive energy and water master plans to USACE for 31 installations throughout the U.S. The master plans covered more than 175 million square feet of facility space and identified opportunities to reduce energy intensity at the installations by more than 30 percent.

AECOM’s work as design-build prime construction contractor and A/E at Tripler Army Medical Center included floorplan reconfiguration, electrical/mechanical/plumbing systems replacement, communications and security systems, fire protection and new central utility plant construction.

AECOM provided construction services for fish passages in a remote area of the Alameda Creek watershed. Work included a soldier pile wall for land stabilization, a 27,000-square-foot soil nail wall including a 30,000-cubic-yard excavation for new fish ladder and intake structure, water control gates, intake manifold for conveyance to reservoir diversion tunnels and a new control building with SCADA systems and VSAT tower.

AECOM is completing a Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) removal action at the Former Fort Wingate Depot Activity, New Mexico. Work includes removal and disposal of up to 500,000 cubic yards of UXO-contaminated soil from a former open burn/detonation area and the surface/subsurface clearance of UXO from an adjacent 320 acres.

Delivering complex USACE programs worldwide

Within a 2.5-month window, AECOM mobilized and deployed 50+ personnel to Udairi Range, Kuwait, to clear a U.S. Army pre-deployment armor qualification training range contaminated with UXO and remnants of depleted uranium for the U.S. Army Engineering & Support Center, Huntsville.

At the SPAWAR System Center in San Diego, California, AECOM implemented a four-phase comprehensive Energy Savings Performance Contract through the Army Corps of Engineers Support Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The project generated more than $3.5M in annual energy savings.

AECOM was the Designer of Record on a design-build team for the 744,867-square-foot Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia, for the USACE Savannah District. The project, built on a greenfield site, is LEED® Gold registered and won an award from Engineering News-Record.

Olmsted Dam is one of the largest civil works projects undertaken by the USACE and is located on the busiest stretch of U.S. commercial inland waterways. An AECOM-led joint venture is building the dam in an innovative “in-the-wet” method to minimize impacts to river traffic and the environment.
