>How to Apply
Penn State’s federal school code is 003329.
Penn State recommends that new undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students submit the 2018–19 FAFSA on the Web at fafsa.gov. Submit it by February 15, 2018, to receive maximum consider-ation for student financial aid.
—If you are a Pennsylvania resident, you must
submit your 2018–19 FAFSA no later than
May 1, 2018, to be considered for the Pennsylvania State Grant Program.
—If you are a veteran, please visit studentaid.psu.
edu/veterans.
—If you will begin at Penn State the summer of 2018, you must also complete the 2017–18 FAFSA on the Web at fafsa.gov using your 2015 federal tax return information no later than June 30, 2018. Be sure to review the summer aid information online at studentaid.psu.edu.
The IRS Data Retrieval Tool is available to allow you and your family to securely transfer federal tax information to the FAFSA, as well as save time and increase the accuracy of your information. Please use your 2016 federal tax return information to submit your 2018-19 FAFSA. You will not be able to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool if you filed an amended in-come tax return (Form 1040X).
Penn State participates in all major federal, state, and University student aid programs, including student and parent loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships. The Office of Student Aid awards most student aid on the basis of financial need and according to established program guidelines.
We are unable to meet the full financial need of most students, because student aid funds are limited. Students and their families can learn more about Penn State’s Student Aid Policy on the web at studentaid.psu.edu.
