If you need help, then there is someone nearby to help.
When swimming outside it is important to put on sunscreen.
When swimming at the beach or swimming pool, be sure there is a lifeguard on duty or an adult supervising you.
Read the Signs Check Water Depth
Signs can let you know about any dangers, like running on a slippery floor.
Why? Why?
If the water is shallow, you could hurt yourself.
When swimming at the beach or swimming pool, look for signs
Do not dive into the water without first checking how deep it is.
Look before you Leap Swim with a Friend
You might land on someone and hurt them or yourself.
Why? Why?
If you get into trouble, then your friend can get help.
Look to see if the water is clear of other people before you jump in.
Always swim with a friend and never alone.
Wear a Life JacketNo Toileting in the Water
To help you float if you get into trouble in and around the water.

It is unhealthy to go to the toilet in the water, at the beach or swimming pool.
It is good to wear a life jacket for two reasons;• When you are learning to swim.•When you are doing water sports.
When you have to go to the toilet, remember to use the toilet facilities, not the water.
