Applus+K2 is one of the IOSH UK approved training providers of IOSH Managing Safely Training. This training aims to improve the competence and professional standing of the learners through interac- tive and innovative adult learning concepts. The IOSH Managing Safely Training is designed for man- agers and supervisors in any sector and for those who plan to be managers or supervisors in the near future. The students will get up-to-speed on the practical actions they need to take and gain the knowledge and tools to tackle safety and health issues they are responsible for. This training high- lights the integral nature of health and safety in any management or supervisory role. DESIGN OF THE PROGRAMME Delegates will learn about the importance of health and safety – and what you will need to know in a real-world situation at work. The IOSH Managing Safely course gives detailed step-by-step guidance without jargon or off-putting legal language. There are clear scenarios to which managers can relate and high quality technical content that’s based on real situations. The course takes four days and covers how to carry out risk assessments quickly and effectively, how to get grips with auditing and measuring discovers methods to identify and control hazards. Delegates will also gain detailed knowledge of the law and how the legal system works regarding health and safety, along with steps they can take to protect the environment in their day-to-day work. The course is arranged in eight modules: 1. Introducing managing safely 2. Assessing risks 3. Controlling risks 4. Understanding your responsibilities 5. Identifying hazards 6. Investigating accidents and incidents 7. Measuring performance 8. Protecting our environment. Protecting our environment. An IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely certificate is valid for life. DETAILS OF ASSESSMENT

There is an end-of-course assessment of 25 multi-format questions. There is also a project to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course.

Part A: Written Assessment:

Delegates will be given 25 multi-format questions and must attain a minimum of 36 out of 60 marks.

Part B: Project Assignment Assessment:

Delegates will be expected to carry out a risk assessment based on their own work environment. The whole project should reinforce the delegates’ learning on the course by applying what they’ve learned in a practical way. This can be conducted at the end of each training day or at the end of the course module. Delegates must attain a minimum of 23 out of 38 marks. In total, delegates must attain a total score of 60 or more.

Appeal

Delegates can appeal within 20 days with us if they did not succeed in attaining the minimum passing marks and can be allowed to sit for re-assessment. If delegates failed on the 2nd attempt, they will need to sit through the whole course.

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT OUTCOME

The certification body, IOSH will assess the marking results by our certified trainers and will endorse the participant’s competency.Successful candidates are awarded with an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
