2.11 TAP Table Set Up (Dynamic TAP). Note: Example below are set for Dynamic TAP if STATIC TAP is used please skip to step 2.12.1.

Edit the BRTU TAP table for SN16000 by entering the following commands:

In our example the BRTU OC12 card is inserted in slot 1 of the BRTU-99 shelf. Therefore when setting the TAP for the aforementioned OC12 card TPID #1 should be use. See figure 2.1 for more detail and see the note in the next page for more information on using the Dynamic TAP on the BRTU.

Enter Command: ED-DB-TAP::1:CTAG::TID=LAB-SN16000,TAPID=1-1-1-1,TAPID2=1-1-1-1, TIMING=LOOP,TPA=FFFFFFFFFFFF,TCA=ZZZZZZZZZZZZ;

TAPID=1-1-1-1 –This is the TACC number which is the actual STS1 AID format shelf-slot-port-timeslots. This entry has to match with TAPID2 entry.

<shelf>-<slot>-<port>-<timeslot>

The fields are the same as AID fields.

OC3/OC12 ports need to be provisioned as TACC=YES by the DACS administrator before use.

TAPID2=1-1-1-1 –Same as TAPID.

TCA = Enter ZZZZZZZZZZZZ for dynamic set up of the entire STS1 channel of the OC12 circuit. Setting the TCA as ZZZZZZZZZZZZ will allow you to reuse the TAP for STS12C, STS3C, STS1, and DS3 testing as needed.

Information on Dynamic TAP Dynamic Tap is supported in BRTU version 13.30 or higher. Testing information included in this document was performed with BRTU version 13.80 and with Sycamore SN16000 imbedded software version FP2.3.

OC3/OC12 ports need to be provisioned as TACC=YES by the DACS administrator before use.

The entire OC12 TAP signal can be set up to up to four different TAP types. It could be provisioned for DS3, STS1, STS3C, and STS12C. The commands that BRTU sends to the SN16000 to provision the TAP is ENT-STSx. These commands are sent by the BRTU to the SN16000 to set the TAP of the SN16000 for the type of testing being requested. When DISC-TACC is sent to the BRTU, the BRTU in turn will send the DLT-TAP command to the SN16000 to remove or delete the TAP it created for this session. Example of the ENT-STS and DLT-TAP commands are shown in the circuit test access in section 3 of this document. Figure 2.1 BRTU-99 TPID Assignment:
