Applicants: Please read the following items very carefully.

Please provide the following information with your application:

Written Response: Response must be original work authored by the student and written to the topic below. Response should not exceed 250 words.

Topic: The International Baccalaureate Program is a nationally and internationally recognized program designed for academically committed students whom set high personal and educational goals and want to pursue excellence in multiple academic areas. This includes the humanities in addition to mathematics and science. Based on this statement, please explain:

(1) Why would you like to participate in the IB program?

AND

(2) Why do you think you would succeed in an academic setting such as the on provided by the International Baccalaureate Program?

Section 3: Historical Data

If you are not currently attending a Manatee County School District Middle School, we will also need the following:

1. One copy of each of 6th and 7th grade final report cards

2. One copy of most recent 8th grade report card

3. One copy of most recent FSA reading and math scores with levels. (If you are from a private or out of state school, other standardized test scores with national percentiles are accepted)

Section 4: Parent & Student Agreement

I understand and agree to comply with all of the following terms:

All students accepted into the program must be candidates for the IB Diploma.

I agree to remain in the program for the entire school year. If I decide to leave the program for whatever reason after the school year is complete, I must complete all graduation requirements.

I, as the parent of a student in the Southeast High School IB program, agree to

contribute five volunteer hours each year.
